Hey!!!! Whats going on Guys. I just brought a 97 LSC and I had a few questions. The Airbag system on the car works but it sits low. The ride isnt bouncy or ruff but it sits low. I was wondering if it was a sensor that i can replace or are the bags worn. The system check says the air system is ok. I cut the system off and jacked it up to check the front end. (brakes, tire rods etc.) When I turned it back on the car lowered itself back to the height it was before I Jacked it up. So i figure something must be bad. Sorry this is long.

If the bags were bad they wouldn't hold air... they would leak all the way down or at least the bad bag..

+1 on the sensor lowered follow the instruction on how to.. posted above.

raise the sensors back up a little and see what it does. i also think its been sensor lowered. very easy fast mod that costs nothing and takes a few minutes, some people like the looks, others dont, if its too low for you, it can be put to a height you will like very easily.

Remember to get it re-aligned after you change it back. The fronts of these cars will eat tires FAST if you change height and skimp on the alignment, the tires toe out bad when lowering so they'll toe in bad when you raise it. Assuming the guy had it aligned afterwards.

Thanks guys it was sensor lowered. When i was moving the sensor back the driver side front pin broke. Now I have to find one.

i thought the ball stud was discontinued long ago...... im sure something should fit, id go to a hardware store and try to match something up.

I went to the J-yard and found a couple so am good. I have one question should i be moving the sensor up or down. I dont want to make a mistake.

i bought one from the dealership a few months back... maybe they just happened to have one laying around. It did take a while to specify the part tho they seemed very confused at first!

odd, cuz i remember when i sensor lowered mine 4 years ago everyone said "dont break the ball stud!!!" maybe they were just backordered for a century or 2 and there available now

Well, when you're lowering the car the rule is "compress the front, extend the rear" .......... so, in your case, Extend the front sensors, and compress the rear sensor. G/l and don't forget to get it re-aligned!!
