New GTDI Twin Turbo Engine revealed for 2009 Lincoln MKS

Well I feel dumb then. I just left the plant last Friday adding changes to my equipment for the 09. I would hope I am wrong about the 3.5, I've never been a fan. As far as the GTDI I'm almost 100% that will be the 2010 model year only because I was asking a million questions about it.

Not like they give 2 :q:q:q:qs what guys like us think but I also mentioned the name change to GTDI was gay!! Whatever happened to cool engine names?

I know I'm just preaching the the choir here, but they seem to be focusing on performance and fuel efficiency. Getting lots of power out of a V6. Think maybe in several years they will come out with the MKR with a V8 and at least 500 HP? PLEASE PLEASE! I'll take out several loans to get one.

Oh I think they well. They're developing a RWD platform, confirmed the other day. Not necessarily sure they'll get a V-8 with the new CAFE standards and all- GM cancelled their own program to update the Northstar. Looks like the future is twin turbos.

Don't forget to check out the other thread I posted of a Taurus mule equipped with the twin turbo V-6s (that will be used in the MKS), beating a 320 hp Northstar equipped STS and TT BMW.

Just read in Car and Driver...it's going to get a 3.7 liter similar to the Mazda CX-9 with 270hp 265lbft......then a direct injection turbocharged version of the same engine bringing hp to 350 and it won't be getting RWD. FWD will be the standard with AWD as an option.

How the hell does car and driver know? Ford don't even know what their puting in it.

I think we are all going to be pleasantly surprised with the new engines/cars that Ford/Lincoln/Mercury will be coming out with in the next few years. I think the new leadership at Ford is helping.

Well they just interviewed the 3 woman who designed this. A White one, a Black one, and a Yellow one. They said they were going for a waterfall look on the inside. Lincolns on the way out. Be sure to check out the new F-150 designed by a group of homeless people just south of eight mile. They said they were going for a warm and cozy look on the inside.

woah, easy on the Ford/Lincoln hatin'.

I think the new F-150 looks fine. It looks like an American pickup truck, and the interior continues the nice trend from the current one.
