as the title says, and as some of you may remember the thread, this was his prototype tray that i got from him, cleaned up the edges a little and had it rattle bombed (thanks MWB) and looks like the only thing holding the old one together was the webbing of zip ties and mechanics wire :D

lolol, i washed all the black off my hands before i picked up my phone, ever played with them rubber evap system hoses, the fuel vapors turn the hoses into a black mess

do you work at NTB?
this may be a dumb question but what is that tray for? evap tray= evaporator tray?

Looks Good!

Now lets hope that the trend of the same thing breaking on my car two months later doesnt keep up. :D

Yeah, I have dropped the tank a couple of times. My hoses weren't bad, pretty much clean. Must be an environmental difference. However, I have a few splices in my evap hoses from the work. My tray looks like almost new too.

I have a pic. of mine here:http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=32582&highlight=msm8tress

NTB hell no, ford tech for going on 10 years
its emissions crap the tray holds the 2 charcoal canisters under the trunk (its a gen 2 thing)

and torque i dont see any evap tray in that pic, or even a car for that matter

those hoses are nasty when you touch them, even if you wash them with a scrub brush and some purple power, once they dry, if you touch them with your fingers they get black again. i know exactly what you meant when you mentioned it. it looks like the tray doesnt have any drain holes, you might want to drill a few in the bottom.

Did you scroll down to post #12?

I agree... Over all, the pan looks great. Ought to last you some time up there in the snow and ice and salt and rain and humidity and...

wow this thread took off

jamie, no need for drains since none of the sides on the prototype are welded, so each corner is a open seam so it "should" just run out there

yup torque, i scrolled down to post 12 saw the pic of debi but no car in sight ;)

nothing was for lunch that was at 3:00 :D

rich88lcs is right, the kid is going to make some eventually, remember mine was the prototype to realize everything that could be done different, the edges were rough etc (not complaining, just explaining) so im sure he should have some out as soon as he gets a minute

topher5150, are you wondering whats in the tray? its 2 charcoal canisters (gen 2 emissions crap) nothing exciting though 2 black rectangles, a vent solenoid and some hoses and a big mess

I would love to make more... but that won't be able to happen right now.

I work 60-70 hours a week, I'm going to school, and I have a girlfriend lol...

I redesigned the tray from the one Chicken has, much more drainable. I'm going to take the tray to a local metal shop and see how much a run of 20 would be.

That would be awesome man. I'm sure I'm not the only one who could use one.

And no worries about you not having time to do it. It's cool that you got as far as you did.

Emmission Tray

Any Words on making a few more Emmission Trays for Purchasing?

I am in the Market & With a Reasonable Asking Price You Can Put Me Down for Buying One!!!

Thanks!!!

I see there is some real interest in this....

I'm down at college all week but this weekend I could make a trip back home and devote some actual time to building these trays...

I have been putting off trying to find a used one but I cant wait forever or I will be driving someone and the CE light will come on because the EVAP canisters are gone.

If you have the time and feel like doing it in the next couple weeks I would definitely take one.

Okay, I give up where is this tray on a '98 Mark VIII?

Its under the trunk...

Heres what I am going to do...

I won't take any pre-orders or make any promises but by Sunday of this week if I make some they will show up in the for sale section and it will be first come first serve basis. That way I won't break any promises to anyone.
