new, car guy, pls help

Keeping in mind they are held to Ford's standards and specs, not just any sweat shop pumping out crap and getting away with it. Safe to speculate they sourced a reputable company which is held to batch testing and would be held liable.

Interesting thing though Rigs, you all have seen the phantom overheat posts I have. 99.5 % chance at this point it is the Motorcraft thermostat that is one year old sticking. Stealership did all the tests, but stated they couldnt reproduce it (went with problem from saturday to tuesday took in on wednesday, how odd). So since the cooling system is pristine from their tests, and they dont have a code, they wont warranty it out. 3 times in two months its done it.

My point is while Motorcraft may still be decent stuff, the lower cost sourcing they are doing yet higher profit margin pricing indicates we should really look at options. If the Chinese thermostat is any indication for Cops.... <shrugs>

Side note on Rich Porter. Company was bought by Spectra Premium which if IIRC is autozones manufacturing arm.

You can tell them a thousand times, they'll always want to purchase the cheaper coils. China made or not.

I have nothing further to add here ... GLWR

Grizzly, "Approved Vendors List" in the world of manufacturing ... have a read.

You and I could start a company and produce coils for the LS ... doesn't mean it meets manufacturer spec nor quality control. Make a boat load money though if we out sourced it to China and have them drop ship in white boxes with no name nor numbering on them. Retail them for 80% less then other available brands.

I have motorcrafts right now that i purchased about a year ago and havent had any issues, I might grab a set of delphis and test them out. My faith is in Motorcraft though.
