New Best @ Atco Tonight

@ Cecil County Dragway, MD today.

No DA data currently available, but it sure as hell wasn't negative.

The A/F ratio in the tune still isn't right in 1st gear, but the TC now locks right after the 1-2 shift. ;)

Congrats on a new best, that is definitely a record MPH for a bolt on Mark VIII. What tires are you running, your website says Firestone street tires?

Thanks!

MT 275/40-17 DR's on 17x9 M179 Cobra R's @ 25 psi.

I also forgot to mention that the race today had a 4,000 lb. minimum weight, so I nearly a full tank of fuel, and my race weight was a bloated 4,065 lbs.

So when are you deleting the A/C and doing the Meziere Water Pump? :p And can you make the Mark as fast as the SC? ;)

Time for a short runner intake and some weight reduction...

I'm probably not going to go to a short runner on this car. Certainly not with the stock intake cams. Maybe after I swap in a T-56, we'll have to see.

With my normal race weight of ~3,980, a few more tweaks to the tune, and some good air, it'll make it into the 12's as it sits.

I believe that the DA today was somewhere around 1,200 ft., although I can't prove it. That would make my corrected ET around 13.05.

I thought about deleting the A/C but, not such a great idea in the summer, with a black car, and black leather. :p Plus, I don't see a point in doing it, as I believe the pulley on the A/C spins freely, then when it turns on, the clutch engages, and that's when parasitic drag happens. I could be wrong, but that's how I feel. :shifty:

MOST Gen2s are still slow. :p

Well, since I've never seen a higher MPH posted by any other stock block N/A Mark VIII, I'm going to go with all of the other N/A Mark VIII's are slow. :D

Look here for weather data. :)

Using data from that site, for the MAT133 station, at 11:15 am the conditions were:

70 degrees
30.17 pressure
44 dew point
3 MPH winds, gusting to 4 MPH from the WNW.

The DA calculates to 971 feet.

My ET/MPH corrects to 13.094 @ 105.927 using the calculator on Drag Times.
