Holy FAWK. I need another sub. This thing puts out SO MUCH MORE POWER than my Kenwood 9104d. I used to have the sub setting maxed out on my HU. With this new amp, it's LOUDER at a negative 1 setting.

Old amp: Kenwood 9104d. supposed to put out 500w @ 2 ohm.
New amo: Directed d2400. puts out 800w rms @ 2 ohm.

Only sub right now is a single Directed SX12D4 wired to... you guessed it... 2 ohms. This amp WORKS the sub. I like it.

The second sub may be an Orion XTR pro series, since it is the closest relative to the directed sx series. The next step up from the SXT pro is the competition subs that handle like 2000 watts rms or something.

I am VERY HAPPY with my purchase. That is all :D

And, of course, pics:

lol.....i like how simple it looks....but it just cant beat the glowing red orion logo on the orion d2400...

This one glows blue. It matches my blue LED interior lol.

What do you think of the sub I mentioned? The XTR pro series from Orion?

not too sure about those subs...i'm more of the old school orion hcca type of guy....legendary in its time of being able to outperform subs with 3 times the wattage with only 600 watts rms!!! but i feed it 1200 rms since orion always underrated there stuff back in the day for competition reasons....do a search for the 2000 model thats the ones i run...i got a couple of extra ones if u r lookin...

Nice. But you should secure it down at least, if you haven't already.

Vids of how it sounds? :D

lol. I just swapped out the old amp with the new one to make sure everything worked. Of course I'll secure it down before I drive anywhere lol.

Video? Let me find my video camera... Although you know how crappy videos of high bass applications turn out. Although this ain't even that high of a bass application. Compared to other stuff I've seen anyways.

dual 2 ohm?

Oh, now I'm pissed. because of the different placement of the pos/neg terminals, my 4g JL wire is about 6 inches too short to mount the amp in the same location. Looks like it's going on the trunk floor for now.

So, got her figured out. If I flipped the amp to put the pos/neg terminals towards the passenger side, the pos cable is long enough. But not the ground. I have some extra 4g JL cable here, but I can't find the black cable, just the red. So, red will have to do for now. I will change it when I buy the 4g cable for the big 3 upgrade.

lol. I'm surprised you didn't notice that it's also on the "slave" setting. It gets REALLY loud when it's on slave. But I don't think that's the way it's supposed to be, right?

its only supposed to b on slave if it is connected to a primary amp that is a similar type of model like another sub amp. if not then u are supposed to have it as a master. like if u had 2 subs and 2 amps one for each sub like i have.... then you can hook up one as master and the other as slave since they will each share the same settings...if u r not using it like this then switch that b*tch to master....

It's on master now. I had not messed with any settings when first installing.

you better turn that subsonic on (it filters out the ultra low freq's that you cant hear out but that can damage a sub in a ported enclosure)

You know, I let the audio shop mess with it. They were flippin switches all over the place. Obviously they didn't care all too much, since I did not buy it from them. I went there because the pos speaker terminal on the far left has the bolt broken off at the head, and I can't back it out. Thanks for the catch. I'll flip it back to the correct position. I still need some time to mess with all the settings. I did not like the remote bass knob, so I disconnected it. After spending a good chunk of time yesterday pulling the rear seat and center console to run the wire under the carpet lol.
