If you leave the car in the sun with no sun shade it is indeed painful. After learning that through experience I leave it under the carport and use sunshades which has remedied the problem.

They either fix their cars with used parts or don't have the issues. Don't let a silly ABS light or Traction Control stop ya. It isn't going to stop you from driving the car and you can always take the light bulbs out.... lol
I'm not sure if the Mark's have this issue, but the AIRBAG light is common issue on the LS and its always the clock spring or a wire under the driver seat, both are relatively easy to replace.

The ABS/Traction control issue is very rare. I had the problem on my CE when I bought it, now you're looking at a CE which has the very same problem. It could very well be a bad batch from the plant during assembly. These things hardly ever go out. If you're having second thoughts about buying a Mark because of these issues or the lack there of of available parts, then maybe you should think long and hard whether or not this is the car for you. Most of us here bought our Marks because we love the car. For me, I take any problem that comes up as a challenge. I love my CE, I've been searching for five years to be able to get one, and I didn't let a check engine light and ABS light stop me. I've fixed all my problems. That's why this forum is the best of all the Mark forums, because we help each other here, and there is a wealth of information here. So you wont be unsupported. Just my 2 cents.

Gman: I know what you are saying and there are other issues with the CE that have me hesitant, the ABS and traction control is one, then we have the foggy lights and someone installed some kind of trim on the front wheel well opening and there are all kinds of scratch marks around the fender opening and holes drilled into the fender 
I absolutely like the way the car looks and drives but I will hold off on this CE for now and look at the Black LSC on Sunday, the black one at least had the blend door replaced and no lights are on and the mileage is the same as the CE 77000.
The holes drilled into the fender wouldnt have been a big deal but there must be a dozen holes on each side with some of them visible because the guy who put them on was not careful and kind of missed.

Yes, in Houston and the rest of the south, ABS/Traction control issues are rare........this is not the case in the snow belt (where he's looking). Both of my Marks, the 93 and 98 had ABS/TC problems. When/if you do have the problem, get a used part from the south, that's what I did with my 98. I'm guessing Houston cars don't get rusty catalytic converter's either! At least up north my rear window molding is perfect

I've had both northern and southern cars. Northern cars tend to have the rust issues as mentoned, but the interiors and plastics are usually in better shape. Southern cars have more interior damage with brittle plastics and fabrics due to heat. I see a good mix of both where I live.

the only things on my car so far are the oil pan and rear evap tray(replaced)..Some of the metal parts on the underside have surface rust..But overall i think it was garaged by the first owner (up to 105k)..the second owner had it for 20k and 7 years so rust isnt that bad. He stopped driving it do to a bad blend door and susp problems so it saw very little winters as far as i know.
