I have to agree with Fla02LS. On another note keep the stuff in the trunk from now on, so it's out of plain sight. Then you can deny them to search if you really want to. They can't search your vehicle if you deny them unless they have a reason to arrest you or tow the vehicle. I'm not trying to start a debate. I'm just saying Fla02LS made some good points.
 
Same reason why I keep my HK45 handgun in the trunk instead of up front...til I get my conceiled weapon's permit at least :P
 
In the great state of Nevada, your car is an extension of your home when it comes to firearms and you can have a load firearm, law enforcement prefer it be out of sight....no permit required, but you have to be legal to own a firearm.
 
yes indeed well lets just say washington is strict cause of all the idiots doing shootings...you hear about the shooting outside Toys R Us at I believe the southcenter mall...two women were agrueing with their baby's in their strollers and then the husbands step in and start fighting and then they each pull out a gun and they both die at the scene :P
 
Bottom line, Cops will harrass you and its practically impossible to prove it (I tried, they dont even care to hear it). It happens. Many years ago, I was conducting illegal activity, and the cops knew it. I was being pulled over and searched atleast once every 2 weeks (I live in a really small town). After about 8 months, I was caught off gaurd. I lost my 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac (which the DA now owns, that B**ch), spent some time in rehab, and got 2 years probation.

The point of all this is that there are ways of keeping your record clean, thats the most important thing, but you can not fight the justice system, they are NOT your friend. The best you can do is to fight to have your charges exsponged after you complete your sentence. BTW, I had an $8000 attorney, so if they had been "out to get you" like they were me, it will not help to go all out on lawyer fees they will sentence you to whatever they want anyways.

Upside to it all, Ive been alcohol and drug free since aug. 2004:)

Congratulations on being drug and alcohol free since 2004.

You state you were “conducting illegal activity and the cops knew it and were caught off guard”. That means you were caught driving with an amount of drugs large enough to be trafficking for sale and they confiscated your Explorer. So claiming they were out to get you is true and as far as harassment while conducting known illegal activity and putting yourself in that position just sounds silly on your part.

This was a hard and expensive lesson that in the long run will be positive, could have been worse.
 
everything WAS in my trunk.. they put something in the front set and stated is was there to have probable cause.. nothing was ever in my cabin.. TY for your concern.. apology accepted...


oh.. and the cop admitted to stopping me for the make and model of my care because it is a high profile car and I had tints that did not let him see my "race or ethnicity" while he was, at all times, behind me.. and stated he was never next to me.. he also stated my windows were half down..


it's a long story.. i really don't want to get into it.. just don't make assumptions please.. i just simply asked for a favor.. that's all.. favor complete.. thread may be closed if wanted

Damn...ya just move here...at least cops aren't :q:q:q:q-offs. They get to pull over the really retarded people, the female (bad drivers), and the rich ppl driving fast cars that they dunno how to control.....

The best defense is to befriend the cops before you ever get into any trouble. Years ago I was a lifeguard at a city pool that always had trouble. Eventually, the pool was added to the regular route of two cops. We used to have a hell of a good time with those guys. That was 15 years ago and I still cannot get a ticket in this town.

Now, if I am doing something truly illegal I know I will get busted. But, I also know that the cops are going to to everything they can to help me out while still doing their duty.

The majority of cops are regular guys just like you and me. The best speeding ticket I ever got out of was by being straight honest with the guy. He comes up to my window and asked, "Do you know why I pulled you over?"

I said, "I assume for speeding."

"Do you know how fast you were going?"

"Well I didn't until I saw you, then I knew exactly how fast I was going."

He started laughing, thanked me for my honesty and let me go.
