I have my trans torn apart, and am ready to put it back together, but i have a part that fell out and i have no idea where it goes. It is a golf tee sized plug. It is actually simular shape to a golf tee also. I need to know where it goes before i put the trans back together. Thanks!!

dont worry it's the plug for the dipstick tube that was installed at the factory.

they push it inside the pan and it just lives in there...until discovered by some really freaked out person.

put it all back together and leave that peice on your tool bench

if you doubt it.. pull the dipstick tube and poke it into the hole.
it'll fit like it was meant to be there.

yeah!,what he said.

you should really get a print out for the tranny, because its like a great big puzzle

Define all apart, cause having the pan off doesn't really count... lol

It's just a factory seal, and I was freaked the first time I saw one too.

So I just finished with the Jmod and 1-2 Acumulator spring upgrade, and now i cannot get the car to shift through all the gears. The only gears I have are neutral and drive, and park. Nothing else. Is the linkage out of adjustment or something? What did I do wrong? I followed the directions exactly from TCCOA. please let me know. The car is absoutely undriveable untill I fix whatever is wong with the tranny. Thanks.

the 'linkage' is really the alignment of the Manual Lever Position Switch (MLPS) and it is very touchy but I doubt you disturbed it-either you are low on fluid or possibly something is not connected properly (did you remove connectors and not hook them up again?)-no matter what, don't panic, worst case you might have to drop the pan and check to see if the snap ring is still in place, or a connector is not hooked up-low fluid will cause problems, when I did my first mark, I had it low about 2 quarts and it went into reverse after about 5 seconds-

good luck.

Toph,

I'll be home for a full week April 12-22nd, if you have any stuff that needs done, hit me up, you have my number.

Mike

The trans issue really has me up in arms. I dont know what to do. I hate to just put more fluid in it (still low) and then end up having to drop the pan and wasting the fluid anyways, but I guess that is my only way to eliminate possibilitys.

Thanks mike. Things have been crazy lately. Im working full time and going to school full time also, so the only free time I have to work on anything is on the weekends. The mark is still in the garage w\ all my tools out untill I can get time this weekend to get everything straightened out w\ the tranny.

Then only parts I have left to install are a B&M trans cooler, and 180* tstat.

The rest of the stuff I want to put on before Carlisle hasn't even been ordered yet.

The list is getting shorter though. lol.

Im thinkin about going up, just to hang out, i dont think ill run. its quite a hike from here, especually if i plan on racing.

yeah if your anywhere near mikes hometown, i agree it will be a haul for you guys, im lucky im 30 min from wisc (i dunno if thats good or bad, but for the 13th its a good thing)

Get a REALLY clean pan and re-use the fluid......... What's the issue with pouring fluid down the dipstick tube more than once?

Ya thats fine Mike. Just give me a buss sometime next week so we can work everything out. Hopefully this weekend I can actually get some time to fix and drive the darn thing.
