After doing some things to the car on my day off put in an avic d2, sanded, primed and painted my new mclaren grill, and detailed the car. While i was at it i thought id clean the engine a little bit and did so and sprayed it off very lightly and when i left about 2 hours later my Emission light came on and i was having a rough idle and when i drive it seems like it kinda studders when i give it gas. Was thinking it was maybe a coil that some water got into or something? Any suggestion? 04 V6

get the code read form auto-zone, pep-boys, advance,...

could be wet coil, or disconnected hose, ....etc

flooded spark plug well? There are no coil covers on a V6 and water can easily get where it should not. If the seals on the COPs did their job, the water didn't get down the hole, but otherwise, you are probably looking at something in that area being drowned. The water seems easy enough to clean an engine with, and does a tremendous job, but you run the risk of things like this happening. The last time this came up, the fellow was able to get rid of the stumble in a day on its own. He got lucky and I hope your luck is similar. getting to the right side coils and plugs is no walk in the park.

So the V6 just have spark plugs. Ive never had to do anything to it since i bought it back in november. I do know that they were changed though previously before i had bout the car not sure exactly when though. Is it something i could do in say a 5 hour time frame? When you get it i guess its best to replace them all if its tough to get to

I left the hood up last night in the garage with a couple fans on it and this morning it was good.Went and had the code cleared if it comes back on ill replace the 1 cyclinder misfire it read but i doubt it will be any trouble. Thx for the info
