While I was behind my glovebox reprogramming my key fob, I noticed this connector (#3) unplugged. The 2 plugs (#1-#2), look like they belong in that connector. evidently the previous owner has disconnected this for some reason.
does anyone know what this connector and plugs are for?
It is right below the blower motor behind the glovebox.
Thanks in advance for any help..Joe

lol! believe me , i was tempted to plug those guys in and see what happens but my luck, it would get expensive to see. ill wait till i get a better idea what its for....:)
i forgot to mention its a 93 if that helps any.

I am not sure what is what. Does everything work all right ? Do you have coil springs?

she has airsprings to cush her tush. fronts have been replaced, rear original, soon to be replaced.

Honestly i dont know. never tried it. the horn will beep when i hit lock on the remote twice..so, i imagine its arming. ill go try and get in it while its armed by messing with the doors and ill sit on the fender to see if the horn starts beeping. ill keep you posted shortly.

factory alarm module. horn must have been going off all the time so someone unplugged the alarm module.

the horn will beep when i hit lock on the remote twice

thats because the keyfob module is in the trunk i think.. its confusing

but usually when the horn goes off constantly, you dont have to unplug that module, 9 times out of 10, the problem is the switch that is mounted right next to the air box under the hood. there is a rubber boot covered alarm switch under the hood on the inner fender and when they go bad, they'll cause horns to blow off at random and will cause the alarm to go off when locking the doors with your key fob, but it wont go off when locking the doors with the key. confused yet lol?

yup... mine turned out to be my ignition.. how weird is that..

i would pull my key out and if the ignition wasnt exactly where it was supposed to be the chime would go off ( as if the key was still in ).. and if i didnt jiggle the ignition until it clicked and the chime stopped the alarm would go off about 30 seconds after i closed the door and and went in the house..
and nothing would shut it off.. so id have to pop the hood and pull the horn relay

once i figured that out .. no more alarm problems

stupid ford ignitions.. i used to be able to start my 86 thunderbird without even putting my key in the car... and my 93 mark viii . i could pull the key out while it was running

it started pouring like a cow peeing on a flat rock outside, so i havent tried hooking the plugs into the connector yet.
but the alarm does not go off when i jiggle the door handles or when i sit on the front fender.
ill try it tomorrow. ill keep you posted. thx for the help guys.

a good way to test the alarm is to roll down your windows.. get out and lock and arm your car.. then reach in and open the car from the inside.. that should trigger your alarm ..

or leave your hood open and arm the alarm like i did last week. after about 30 seconds the alarm also went off :D

yes thats the anti theft conn.

the horn beep on lock and the panic are seperate from the alarm system

FYI, sitting on your fender will do nothing, so will giggling the door handles. You have to breach the vehicle in some way. Hood, trunk or doors.

you guys were right. its the alarm. i armed it and opened the hood and doors and nothing happened. when it stops raining ill go out and plug in the connector and see what happens. thx for the help!
