Just thought I would share a quick pic of what I did with my Mark over the weekend. Hub swap with Cobra brake upgrade and slotted rotors and 2011 GT 19 inch wheels. I promise to get better pics later (and cut the grass). Let me know what ya think.

looks great. Little bit raked for my taste, but looks killer with the wheels. now you just need to paint the calipers red.

Those rims look really good on a Mark Viii!!! I definitely think I will be on the look-out for a set. I would rig up a new center cap with either the "lincoln star" symbol or the "Cobra star" symol!!! But yeah they look good!!!

Lol the calipers were red I painted them metallic grey....thought the red was a little flashy on the Mark. Also these are factory take off wheels 19 x 8.5 with a 50mm offset so they need a spacer. I went with H&R 15mm hubcentric units, but American Muscle sells a replica of this wheel with a 30mm offset that would be a much closer fit.

what size tires/kind you got on there? Are they 45 or 50 series? Do you like the ride? I have pirelli 235/45's on my 19's and they ride ok..Worse then stock obviously but a heck of alot better then the 225/35's fuzion zri's i had on it last year.

Still riding on air? if so either raise the front a tad or lower the rear a tad...i would raise the front.. This is my first lowered car and it can get quite annoying watching/slowing down for dips/rr tracks ect so you dont bottom out.

I think the front looks low because of a shadow or something. It is actually dead level at ride height. The tires are 245/45/19 take offs from a new stang. They are about an inch bigger than stock but man the ride is awesome. This is far from my first lowered car, but yes I am still playing with the air to get it right where I want it, not used to having to option of going up and down at will.

Thats gotta be it then.

Glad you like the ride! just a fyi, your speedometer should read the same mph as stock. Just ran into my first "side of the road" radar detector thing and the mph is dead on. +/- 1mph

Cool thanks for the info on the speedo now I just need to get the trac lok and 3:73s in. I think the majority of the ride compliance can be attributted to the air ride. I would have never put 19s on one of my thunderbirds. 17s were all I could deal with day to day on a car with tokico coils.

Looks sick bro! I'm diggin' those wheels, and what a positive upgrade on the brakes! I upgraded to the KVR cross-drilled rotors and pads myself, but it seems to me that the cobra setup would've definately had been a better investment in my case, the stock single-piston calipers just aren't enough in my opinion... nice weekend project you did!

Thanks for the replys guys. I am still trying to figure something out on the center caps as they are a little different design than most others I have seen, I am probably going to have to mill the pony emblem down and overlay a new plexi cover. I think the cobra brake setup should have been on these cars from the factory. I can't understand why Ford underbraked almost every vehicle built in the 80s and 90s. One other option you could look at is going to the 99 PBR calipers you will have to use non sport thunderbird rotors so you lose some swept area, but the caliper is so much better it crazy. I eliminated rotor warp just by changing to them on my dads 96 sport.
