My New Exhaust

I got tired of the loud drone and Mustang sound of the 2.25" Magnaflows I had on the LS, so I found something new. I ended up going with AP Exhaust Big Max Turbo 2.5" mufflers, Performance Curve 22" glasspacks (resonators), and Cherry Bomb 4" tips. Overall I love the sound, and will try to get a sound clip sometime today. I'm not really happy with how far the tips stick out, or the fact the mufflers are mounted on end instead of flat or angled. I'll be getting that fixed soon, read I need to get ahold of the shop and see if they'll fix it free. Anyway links below are where I got the parts at, and I only have 2 pics of it. If I could find tips like bull I'd be super happy, but that seems like a lost cause lately.

Were the mufflers to large to install at an angle? Like they should be....

They weren't any bigger than the magnaflows IIRC, he just got in a hurry because he waited until the last minute to do it and didn't spend the time needed to mount them at an angle.

And wow... How can you even think mounting them like that would be a good idea? Those will be ripped off in no time with a few steep driveway passes.

Ok, I added a video clip to the original post. I've scraped them 4 times already so I'm calling Monday to have him fix them.

BlackLS06 They are much more quit. There's no drone in the car now, and the raspy Mustang sound is gone, which I'm glad since I think a Lincoln should have a more subtle sound.

I wouldn't have left till he did. That's completely unacceptable. I wouldn't have payied either until they were installed correctly. But that's just me

^^ I was crunched for time. It was 10am Saturday morning and I had to leave for the meet in a few hours. I know the guy, and he's done good work on the LS before. It won't be an issue to have him fix it.

ehh not a fan of the mounting. but like you said you will fix? I do believe so atleast. Must sound pretty good too

What is the configuration of those? Center/Center? Dont you need offset/offset mufflers to mount them up into the bumper in a verticle position?


I like the sound. Any drive by clips?

They are offset/center They can be tucked if put in the right spot. My old Magnaflows were center/center and tucked. Drive by clip ya gotta work on that. Finding a friend to help is hard to do with my hectic schedule lately, but I will try this week.
