Did you REALLY think I would put 23's on an LS??????

Just bought a set of 4 23" budd wheels for my work truck. They are EXTREME dirty. LOTS of built up brake dust. Lot of scrubbing to get them clean.

I plan to drop them off to be polished. Place is charging $65 a wheel. They will look like mirrors, when I get them back.

BEFORE CLEANING THEM!!!!

i already had my "kill it with fire" meme ready

I'll be honest I would be pissed if that the quality I got from a shop claiming to re-finish them

You could have got them to look that good for like $10. Some alloy wheel cleaner and some pads and a lil bit of manual labor.

steel wool also comes in handy for this kind of stuff. might as well just plastidip them.

I'm pretty sure the after pics are just of him scrubbing them down, it doesn't sound like he has sent them to the shop yet

I would like to think that when you say you are having them polished then show before and after shots, that, that would mean those are before polishing and after polishing

I stated that "I plan to drop them off to be polished". The before and after are how they looked this morning. The after is how they look after I scrubbed all the crap off of them.

3 hours labor & $1.51 for steel-wool scrub pads and a LOT of elbow grease.

LOL...gotta admit that post was kinda confusing.

If they look that good already then i could imagine they will look amazing when you get them back.

Those are going to look mean polished. I like truck wheels bright polished, but not chrome. Something about chrome and trucks I don't like. I guess it's my southern upbringing. If you get a truck, it's for a purpose, not for just driving it around like a car.

They had been sitting in a storage shed for years. I got them for $400. The brake dust was caked on pretty bad. Degreaser and WD40 to brake it up and make it soft. The steel-wool pads are toast. Nothing left of them.

I have stainless steel doors on the rear and belly boxes. Plan to have the side skirts over the tanks done this month. Done with the "bling" "bling" at that point.

I'm sure there will be picture whoring once it's all done. I'd like to see a few pics.

Truck is going in the shop for some work this month. When I get it back, I will post some pictures.:)
