So power was out all night and even tho I had food I had no way to make it now :mad: So all the McDonalds were even closed but IHOP was open so stopped in and while eating watched the Highway disappear in front of me. Got out and across just before they closed it down :rolleyes:

wow. i would be scared to drive through that. it look like its 14-18 inches deep covering the road..
 
You must not get many flash floods up that way.. Almost nobody here in NM would drive through that, we all know that one guy who hydrolocked his engine doing that.
 
I did one flood in my Gen1 that was so deep it really screwed me in an odd way :mad:

I went through a rain flood on Rt57 coming from Washington to Stewartsville NJ. Drove home and it dropped below freezing during the night. Came out in morning and click click when I turned the key? I knew the engine wasn't seized cause I had driven it home the day before. Turned out my starter was full of water and it froze :eek:

Took starter out got new one at Autozone and was good to go...
 
It's an obstacle delusion :D from the camera. I've seen that happen a lot with digital cameras. It's pretty wierd looking. It comes from the wiper moving faster than the camera's sensor can keep up with. Usually, the "flimsy" wiper illusion will show up with 24fps or lower. With 30fps and up, it's usually pretty smooth. It's similar to the illusion you get when you're filming a moving vehicle that the wheels are moving backward or not at all depending on the speed of the vehicle, fps rate of the camera, and rpm of the wheels. If you ever watch "Top Gear", you'll see a lot of that:)

Yeah glad you got out - hope the food was good :yuck:! I had only like 3" water in the backyard, thanks to a creek and lost a couple trees and a section of fence. Nothing like the coastal folks in Virginia and along the East Coast.
 
i got away with little trouble too, i had an inverter to run my sump pump,we didnt have power for 5 hours,so not too bad at all.
 
At friends house that has power cause mine has been out since 9pm Sat night. I got new wipers and a battery after the flood cause it was cranking over very slowly. Thought the batt had finally bit it but no, it was all caused by driving in deep water.

Hope my power comes back today at least :confused:
