Asked him if he wanted to go out and listen to daddy's speaker. I was back by the trunk listening, and was going to start messing with the amp settings. I came around the corner to see this. Grabbed the video camera just in time lol.

YouTube- kid likes the sub

Thanks. I have it at about 60-70% volume. Gain where it's supposed to be (I think. This amp does not have any markings for me to match the preout voltage).

I'll post up another one of just the sub in a second.

That's too funny. It sounds good (even on my BB) what were u listenin to?

Thats too cute glad to see both you and your son have good taste in music and in cars

Three 6 Mafia Mafia!! ha. I like em. Sounds very clear man. I was expecting your car to be cleaner though :p

It should've been cleaner, but I had to go to a client's house in BFE. After 40 miles out into the middle of nowhere, I had to turn onto a little dirt road, and go another 7 miles.

I had a flat on the way back from that job. So not only was my car dirty as f*ck, I also have to give the tire shop another 200 tomorrow for the new tire. It was not how I wanted to spend my Saturday.

I just chalk it up to the cost of doing business. I would've been less pissed if ti was a tire that would've needed replacing soon anyways. But I had less that 1000 miles on this one. Busted some belts, so when I aired it back up, there are 3 or 4 big bulges on the sidewall on the back side. Actually, I'm going to see if my work will cover part of the expense since it happened on the job, and there are no company cars.

Whatever though, it'll get washed in about an hour. :D

Fuzion ZRi. 245/35/19. Quik recommended them as a decent tire. I believe he said he runs them on his Lotus. The 245/35 don't have a lot of sidewall room to run low before they are completely fecked. Especially with the camber.

Nice! Nice camera as well I might add.

Also not sure what you are saying about the amp having preout voltage. If any preout in setting the gain matters it is the Head Unit's (higher is better).

Use a DMM and the formula that uses your amp's load it is seeing from the woofer as well as the RMS it is putting out @ that load. Play a 50hz tone for the sub amp & crank the gain until you achieve the desired number on the amp. Then you will have the most efficient setting that gives the most output without damaging the internals.

3-6 the juice main! haha that's a pretty funny video.. btw you get my PM?!

That is one of my least favorite 3six songs, but it has 'teh bass' for sure.

on some amps, instead of having a 0-10 scale on the gain pot, there will be a pre-in voltage scale that you set to what ever the headunits preoutput level is
ex: 8v - .1v

Right. But you still set it for Max Efficiency via the way I described. It is all about reading the voltage from the speaker outputs.

ancient chinese secret.

Yeah I have no idea what that meant. I have a multimeter. But no idea how to do what you explained lol.

he's right....the voltage from the radio is probably betwen 2-4...maybe higher....play the radio at about 75 percent.....then read the power coming out of the speaker outputs on the amp while u adjust the gain all the way up until the number stops on the multimeter.....annnnnddd you just set ur gains....
