With stage one done, time to move on to stage two. Per the Dr.'s orders I sprayed the whole bottom of the car as well as the well as the whole top of the motor with engine degreaser. I pressure washed the heck out of that motor. I sprayed into every nook and cranny. the next day I checked under the car and found a small puddle gathering right in the spot where the transmission meets the rear of the motor. So the rear main seal is leaking. I'm going to try some rear main seal repair.
After I thoroughly looked at the motor, it seemed to be in pretty good shape. Aside from the bad suspension, the vaccum line that goes across the intake manifold was cracked, and the car die. $1.75 worth of vacuum tubing, and it idles fine. I almost feel bad buying this car from this lady for such a low price. It actually cleans up pretty nice.
