Not sure if these are OEM or not. But for the price I figured worth the gamble. Anyone know for sure what these are for. They were sold for a 97 to 99 Mark VIII. They also lack the "MARK VIII" in white. If legit, good steal, if not its still a decent deal I think.

They definately look like they match the bottoms of the wheel wells.

If my car wore those, they'd be gone w/in ten miles. Lol.

Ya. They look OEM. I wonder if Max can get me the part numbers? They are apparently stamped with a Ford part number.

ive been thinking about those just cause my fender and bumper cover are getting chipped up from my wider tires.

There's protective plastic you can place on your rocker panels etc to guard from rock chips. It's clear and durable and replaceable. You can take it off at shows. Paint does NOT peel off with it. You can cut it to shape. I just don't remember the name of it...

edit: Here it is.

And here's one of many suppliers..

Those aren't Gen2s for sure, I had a few sets and the tab on the bottom was different. They are posibly rears maybe for a Gen1. Could be a Conti piece too.

I checked with dealers and they are no longer available and all gone.

These were sold as fronts. Both Gen 1 and 2 should be the same design I think. Well, we will see. Maybe I will just re-sell them.

Might just be me, but it looks like the ones that Unity bought were actually cut for some reason. I looked at the pictures side by side, and they appear to match except for the "cut away" part.

Really they dont match much if you look even closer. The larger image shows "indents" at the vertical center of each where they mount. The one I have seen shallower and at the top.

The bottom edge on the inside of both is dramatically different. The larger imaged ones are rounded off. The ones I have coming close to a point on the inside edge.

The bottom mounting tab if flat but on mine looks like it bends downward.

The area of the bottom tab is maybe two inches on mine, the others look like about 4 or 5 inches.

Unity, I can't attest to whether they are the correct items or not. However, on my black '94 Mark I installed standard Ford black rectangular flat mudflaps with no lettering. It dramatically reduced the crap on my car. I especially hate those chunks of road oil/grease. After a light rain/snow driving slowly around town I can keep my car virtually spotless too. Likewise it reduces stone chips from your own tires. I don't believe anyone LOVES their looks, but almost all of us love our Marks. lol. Gary in Elmira, NY.

I have practically no paint left on the backs of the front fenders. But having just two flaps instead of four would look odd. The rear bumper has some abuse too :(

Taking a closer look I do think they are fronts. The "hook" curves around the plastic wheel well cover that hangs down behind the wheel. Not sure if Gen1 and Gen2 are the same in the front but I know for sure they are different in back. Also they don't look like they are as large/ hang as low, as the fronts shouldn't.

I've got 2 different types of mudflaps on my cars. I live at the end of a short dirt road.

One set has a white Continental star on them.

The other set are the original Mark VIII white lettered mud flaps

Mine are the flat type. I've never seen your type with the Mark VIII lettering on it.

They look original to me.

Let me know if you want to sell them.:)

The ones I sold in that link were all Ford packaged with Ford #s. They were really nice for mudflaps, just a shame they weren't for my 96.

While I see the Lincoln emblem, these look exactly like aftermarket units and available from Pep Boys.

I have them on my car. They are ok but, not exact. Looking down from the top of the wheel opening they tend to curve forward slightly.

My CE had four mud flaps, the ones that have the white lettering on them, the first thing I did was take them off the car as soon as I got it home...

Ouch. Those are the ones that seem to go for lots of cash. Impossible to find.

Nah... I spent enough this month on stuff! LOL I need to sell some stuff!

Yeah, Kid, post up some pics and asking price and see what you get!

I'm "interested", but I don't have a CE, nor am I interested in spending "a couple of hundred" as Unity suggested!
