Ok, I had put on a set of LCA's and UCA's with in the last year, they were crap parts. the uppers seem to be fine but the lowers, well thats a different story, since I did it before with KStills Assistance. It was easy enough, just the parts of having it aligned afterwards is the pain. anyway, my question.

I've heard to use moog or TRW. Also been told you can use T-Bird LCA's
I looked on Rock Auto, he list differnt part numbers for both cars, The lincoln is K8784,K8783 for right/left lowers@ 113.79(RH) and 103.99 (LH).. and for the T-Bird, it shows K80055/K80053 left/Right @ 56.79Ea. Is there any differnce between these items? If not why such a price differnce.. Just because its listed for a lincoln? doesnt make sense to me just price gouging. anyway..Is it ok to get this T-Bird moog part for the lincoln?

Thanks again.
Bill

The difference is the Mark VIII UCA's have the tab to attach the air suspension sensors, the T-Bird ones do not. If you don't have air suspension anymore, then you can use the T-Bird parts, if you still have air suspension you have to use Mark VIII UCA's.

I have a set of Arnott UCA's that are going on my car this week (I hope). They are supposed to be good as well, but you've already tried another set that wasn't the A1 choice, so you should probably stay with your Moog choice. DLF (a suspension guru) has the Arnott UCA's on his and he's going to install mine, so that's what I went with.

Yea I'm familiar with UCA's, My problem is the lowers.. there is no ball for connecting the Ride height sensor to on the Lowers.

Can I use the T-Bird Lowers, Are they the same? I just am not sure if using the T-Bird ones, if they have a bearing of the Allignment process or if the angles are Identical.. I dont even think this has been looked at yet as I searched and didnt see any posts asking this question.

I did this exact same thing on my car a few months ago when I bent my LCA. I was told on here that the only difference between the Lincoln and T-bird arms are the density of the rubber used in the bushings, the t-birds are supposedly firmer. Now I can tell you, the t-bird lower arm will work just fine, because thats exactly what I did, ordered the t-bird moog lower from rock auto...

Lower's are completely the same, made from the same parts (bushings I mean) & the same metal. The only difference is the code & the price...

Thank you for the Quick replies...
I'm going to order the moog LCA's for the same year t-bird.
Thanks

If you haven't replaced them already you should replace your strut rod bushings, and sway bar links, as now would be the time to do so.

I've already done the strut rod bushings, used Moog for them, the sway bar links were replaced last year OEM parts.

Thanks for the heads up though.

You did good getting the Moog K80055/K80053 T-Bird LCA's, I bought mine from Rock Auto, and received TRW stamped parts.

That, however, was probably a mistake. :(

I hope it works out for you, I would only use OEM Ford strut rod bushings, the Moog parts don't seem to last very long.
