I agree very disappointing fight. I wouldn't call Kimbo's developent shocking. He is eager and quick to learn but it only looks at all impressive because he was so completely lacking anything but stand up before coming to UFC. And his stand up hasn't been very effective so far.

Mir should win as long as he doesn't get caught up in standing and banging with Kongo. Kongo is a more effective striker but Mir has gotten pretty good and is a better and more well rounded fighter overall.

And I like Mir. He is inteligent and usually entertaining as he a pretty normal guy who just likes to fight.

How is Mir going to get Kongo to the ground? I figure Mir pulls gaurd. But I am sure Kongo will be looking for that. Stand-up and make Mir fight his fight. Make Mir stand and BANG.

I called the roy nelson fight... I was sitting a bar and I leaned over to my friend after about 15 secs in...

I told him I'd buy him a round if Roy lost... and then I said he'd put shots on it if I can call it...

I told him a big shot from Roy KO'ing the other guy...

Free beer is great!

Kimbo Slice is like American Idol's "William Hung" of the UFC.

Kongo showed how easily he can be taken down in the Velasquez. Kongo better be spending a lot of time on take down defense if he expects to have a chance. If Mir gets him on the ground he will have a real tought time. I like Cheick Kongo as well but I have to go with Mir on this one.

After watching the countdown show. I hope Kongo knocks Mir the f@#k out. Mir should rematch Big Nog. Watch Big Nog make Mir tapout.

Valasquez was an all-american wrestler. Of course, he took Kongo down. Mir isn't known for his takedowns at all. Mirs best bit is to pull guard from the clitch.

Unfortunately, I due have to admit. Mir probably win the fight by sub. BUT I REALLY want Kongo to knock Mir out.

Is a great fighter but past his prime and I think that was a factor is his decision to go to strikeforce over ufc.

Fedor didn't sign with Strikeforce. M-1 Global is letting Fedor fight in Strikeforce. Any boardcast that involves Fedor is a co-promotion for M-1 Global and Strikeforce. If Fedor isn't fighting, its plain "Strikeforce". Fedor has two more fights on his contract with M-1 Global. At that point, he is a free agent. Don't let that fool you either. Fedor is part owner of M-1 Global. So he will just resign with M-1.

I personally think Fedor will NEVER fight in the UFC. M-1 Global wants to co-promote any show that has Fedor fighting in it. Why would the UFC split the profits with some no name organization like M-1? What does M-1 bring to the table to help the UFC? Nothing. The UFC offered to let Fedor wear M-1 Global gear and hang a banner in his corner. BUT M-1 wants billing in the cage and credits. PLUS, part of the PPV and gate.

The contract that was rumored to have been offered to Fedor was in the ballpark of $5 million per fight for 6 fights. PLUS, the UFC was going to allow him to compete in Sambo tournaments in Russia. UFC has a "no compete" clause in all of their contracts.

In my opinion, I think by Fedor not fighting in the UFC. It will only tarnish his legacy. It looks like he is avoiding the real contenders.

Right now, the top HW's are in the UFC:
World Rankings from Sherdog.com
Lesnar #2 in the world
Mir #4 in the world
Big Nog #5 in the world
Dos Santos #8 in the world
Couture #9 in the world
Carwin not ranked in the top ten
Valaquez not ranked in the top ten

Outside the UFC. The HW contenders list is VERY short and unimpressive:
Barnett #3 in the world(with or without sterioda, if he can get licenses in the U.S)
Rogers re-match #6 in the world
Arloski re-match #7 in the world
Overreem(just got KTFO in Japan)
Werdum(Arloski beat)
Bigfoot Silva(Werdum beat)
Monson
Bobby Lashley MAYBE!!!!!!(Strikeforce just signed him)

UFC 107 PICKS

Mir/Kongo------------Mir by sub(I am hoping Kongo by TKO)

I wasn't aware of what was involved in Fedor not signing but I agree it will(already has to me) tarnish his image.

I was 8-3 on my picks. Not to bad.:)

Penn beat Sanchez @ss.

Pierce really impressed me. Definitely want to see him back in the cage.

How about that counter punch by Buentello on Struve. Struve tried that flying knee. Almost got KTFO. Good thing Struve is 6-11. If he had been shorter, he would have been out cold.

Does anyone think Florian deserves another title shot? He has been dominated in both of his other title fights. He will never be a champion. He just isn't good enough.

wow, i was really impressed with penn, hes definitely in the best shape of his career, if he keeps that up i dont think any one will stop him, except for that puck slapping, maple sipping, son of a b1tch GSP.

while we where waiting for the fights to start, on of my friends showed me a you tube vid of BJ standing in a 3ft pool (with water) and jumping clean the fcuk out.
YouTube- BJ Jumps out of the Pool

no kenflo does not deserve another shot (at least for now)

Big win for K-Flo this weekend, cant wait for January for Joe Lauzon to get back in there after tearing his MCL last year. Also I think his brother is finally fighting again for UFC, I know he signed a contract with them after affliction went down. He was suppose to fight in UFC 103, but hurt his back. A lot of fighters from the New England area have been tearing up the big stages in MMA lately.

Anyone watch the Strikeforce and WEC fights tonight?
