Mesh in Upper Dash?

So doing some cleaning right. During a good ole rub down of the dash with some amorall type product i run my hand across the vents in the uppder dash just to find that well damn it. my hand went right through it like it was nothing. obviously sun rotted or something. it was so brittle. anyway i'm curious what have you folks done if anything to replace that. looking down through the windshield it just looks yuck. and im guessing id have to pull the entire dash and fix it from the back side is that correct ?

That mesh is stuck to the removable dash trim. Just lift it up on each end of the dash and pop the whole piece up. Unplug the light sensor on the pass side.

so thats new. i had no clue that was removable. thanks.

Yup, it's that simple.

The mesh you speak of is held on by some sort of black tacky substance. I'd just remove all signs of the old mesh/adhesive(tends to lose tackyness over time) and get more adhesive and the mesh of your choice. What type of adhesive i'm not sure, guess it depends on how permanent you'd like it.
