What member on here has the most mileage on their LS that is still running good? and how high do they usually go on average if u take care of them....oil and general maintenance taken care of etc...

i havent been able to drive for a lil while now so mine has been sitting, gotta put this new alternator in and she will be ready to go in 2 weeks when i get my license back, since its been sitting the miles been chillin, i only got 60,000 on it

what can i expect to get out of it? transmissions usually hold up? or re build always around a certain mileage?

Off my head HyeLifeLSa has a little north of 175,000 by now, V6. I think there is someone with 200,000 on here but maybe I imagined it. 04 V8 with 110,000. I've only put 10,000 on it since a got it a little more than a year ago so I have a while to get to 175. Plus, most were highway miles so it didn't take to much of a beating with the amount of miles it has

My 01LS8sport had ~180k when it bought the farm (collision) :

There was a member on here or CarDomain that had 200,000 on his. Can't remember which site I saw it on but remember reading about it and seeing the pics.

2000 LS8 - 174,XXX miles, original trans and engine, paid 2900$ less than a month ago.

Purchased my 2002 V8 LSE in Dec 02 with 12 miles on it. I now have 117k miles. Im actually VERY pleased with this car. No squeaks rattles, only suspension issue I ever had was the front swaybar bushings, which I replaced with poly units. Engine has always cranked up/never left me stranded. Only engine issue ever was the coils at around 80k. Replaced them and put in Bosch Platinums around 80k miles. Engine has always run strong and smooth. Had my transmission fluid replaced at the Ford dealership at 90k miles, felt no difference but wanted to have it done once. Transmission works as designed/no maintenance/service issues, but its just not that great of a transmission. Not smooth, jerky on that 2-3 shift, and long and sometimes unpredictable delays using the select shift. And yes, it's flashed with the most current software. Just a "feature" I guess.

I plan to keep this car...until about 170k miles is my target, then if work needs to be done/it starts giving me issues, I'll sell it and get something else. If not, I'll keep on driving it/getting my money out of it.

I'd never worry about miles ... these engines like the Mark VIII engine will run for a long time.

Everything depends on how to take car of the car. This doesn't mean you can't have fun with it or even run it hard. Just do your maintenance, use quality products and as soon as you notice some little wear and tear issue happening take care of it. Don't let them become big issues.

I have a 04 LS V8, it has just over 112,000 miles on the car, and just over 82,000 on the motor. I bouth the car with 59,000 miles on it in Sept. 06, and some how the motor had an oil leak that I was un aware of, and I seized the motor with 69,000 miles on it. When we took a look at it, it was down 3 quarts of oil. So far I have replace the motor, and the DCCV but it looks like now it will need a new degas bottle awell. Besides that everything else on the car has been perfect, even with me driving it a little bit crazy.

def. have to get together for a spring meet next year, hopefully all our LS' make it through another new england winter :D

Definitely need to do that. All the New England LS guys should come to one of my fights some time, we could all meet up in the parking lot, and the place in Plymouth I fight at stays open until 4:00AM selling alcohol, and then the radison hotel accross the street offers half price discounted hotel rates for anyone who goes to the fights.

126k on my 00 v8.

like that one guy said, great car, no squeeks or rattles. some days this thing is QUEIT! in the cold weather, like most cars, you hear more stuff though. Wondering if my front sway bar bushings need replaced as well, might be why the car drives a little funny on the highway.
