Amazing trade! I knew it was in the works but never thought it would really happen. Congratulations gentlemen. I'm sure both of you feel pleased in certain ways! Laser, I'm happy your car stayed on the forum with an owner that can recognize your time/effort that was put into the car!

you work QUICK! haha.
very nice cars guys. i love that dark grey mark with the black wheels.

I wanted that car:( Good luck with it bro! Glad to see someone who will appreciate it owns it now......but I still think I would look better driving it LMFAO:D j/k

LOL! Come on down, I'll let you get a myspace picture sitting in it! LOL

lol, Man you guys really need to get new sig pics soon...It's going to confuse the sh it outa me...Atleast for awhile.

GREAT. I Hope both are happy with the trades. This seems like it is as good of an out come as could be expected for all. It sure is great for the rest of us to follow along.

Good job guys. Hell, at least the white one is closer to me now. I might even get to see it. :D

Picked it up today....it was an uncomfortable ride all the way home.... Why? Because I had a chub for 4+ hours!! Holy Crap that car is awesome!

Starts up and idles like a regular factory mark outside of the sick exhaust tone. But as soon as you lay the hammer down, you know it's along way from factory! Wow!

Got stuck on the highway in stop and go traffic, temp stayed the same, rpms held steady with a healthy idle.

Averaged 23.4 MPG all the way home at 75mph and 2500rpms.

Props to LaserSVT, he can build a sick ride and I didn't even cover the suspension and sound! Top 3 cars I've ever owned! Amazing!!

I am so glad you like the car and more importantly I am glad it went to a good home. :)

I really dig both my new Marks too! Not 5 minutes after we got home was the black car in the air and getting dismantled. Lowering setup and wheels are on Sappers car now and he at this very moment is stealing the cobra star badges.

Also on the way home we went WOT with Sapper behind me in the black LSC. Both hitting it at the same speed and at the same time and the black car walked past the grey car like nothing!
Found out the grey car had a big hole in the intake after the MAF and the IMRCs were stuck closed. Just fixed that and she runs like a freakin champ!
I love that car and have much in store for it.

Anyway, It was so cool meeting you and your pops. Great people.

Little Update: Replacing the heat cracked front rotors, which is pretty much the only thing it needed when I got it lol.

Laser said they were almost new, but had already heat cracked. He said the manufactures wouldn't honor their warranty and he wasn't to happy.

Chime in her Laser if possible, can't remember what brand they were, but I want to be sure not to every purchase them.

Here are a couple pics almost new pos rotors:

And here's a pic I have of the new ones I purchased from brakeperformanceparts.com, before they went of to the machine shop for re-drilling (getting drilled for the 5x108 bolt pattern). These have a lifetime warranty against cracking and warping, and I've had a few buddies here locally use them and warranty out rotors with no problems:

Thats a great rotor and a very good price.

The old rotors were from BrakeMotive and are from Power Stop. Apparently they dont heat treat the metal so one hot brake application kills them. :(

Old Man NOOB ?

Just a question for you both. Why redrill them, are the hubs not swapped to the 5.50" BP hub? And if they aren't, is there not aftermarket big brake kits for the Mark VIII? Or is it just a price thing, meaning it is cheaper to get the big brake or cobra set up cheaper over a big brake kit for the Mark? I know all about the 5.50" hub swap issue is for more rim variety options, but is this true for the brakes also?

I'll defer to Bill since he's the builder, but the car is the stock Mark VIII Bolt pattern with Mach1/Cobra Calipers Requiring a larger rotor. It's a lot easier in my opinion to re-drill the larger rotors, since I already have the Sweet Saleens in the Mark pattern.
