Is this doable or is there more complications than the heads? Someone wants to put the mark viii motor i have into an aviator, but I wasn't sure of the other differences.:shifty:
The exhaust will bolt up fine.
The filter is in the front on all teksids engine and as far as i know all the 4.6's.
I would think the engine mounts would be in the same location.
He will need an intake manifold if the engine is a 93-96.
The valve covers and cops will go on the 93-96 engine with no problems.
The front cover might need to be swapped over.
The cross-over will need to be swaped over.
The tb might be a problem since around 2004 it's a drive by wire, i have seen the continentals drive by wire and the bolt pattern looks the same.
Might need to get some kind of adapter to mate the fuel lines. You will need to get the returnless lines off of a 99 continental.
The fuel injectors will need to be swapped.
The egr tube will need to be modified.
Cross-over should be fine, there is PLENTY of room. And that is also true if the swap was reversed, I used the Aviator cross-over in my 96. Its tighter, but works.
Why would he need an intake manifold in either case? Being Gen one or two. I would think either would work, with a Gen II being most ideal. The intake port is on the same side as either Gen Mark.
He might need the cross-over with two sensors, not sure if he needs both or not.
You make me wonder if you've seen the gen one 93-96 engines. First you say that the oil filter is in the rear of the engine and now the intakes thottle bodies are on the same side. I have removed at least 30 mark vii engines for the blocks, cop valve covers, gen 2 intakes etc. The gen 1's 93-96's the throttle bodies are in the rear of the engine near the firewall. I doubt it very much he would be abe to use the 93-96 intakes.
Wow, your a dick. I was simply asking why, not being an ass like you.
Not meant to be a dick. Your first post in this thread sounds like you know what your talking about and if someone didn't know the engines in the mark's you would be giving them wrong information like where the oil filter is located. If you knew the throttle body location on intakes, then you would know why he would possibly need an intake.
