just pricing some parts locally, and i can get Dorman lower control arms for $92/each with a lifetime warranty against any all defects...is that a good deal? Also can get moog strut rod bushings for $29, how do you guys feel about the moog bushings? I put moog on my tbird over a year ago and they look like the day i put them on

I got the t-bird moog lowerers from rock auto.
$63 bucks to your door in 2 days.
For the bushings I would go to Max and get stock.

the tbird arms are the same? what is the difference....ive had good luck with the moog bushings in previous applications, what makes the OEM ones so much better...?

Lowers are the same.
Uppers are different because of the air ride.

I used the moog bushings, had some problems, it was my fault.
There are some threads out there saying they fail.
Roadboss uses them and likes them.
I Just would use stock next time.

im gonna go with the lifetime warranty arms and the moog bushings i think...but sucks the arms are 5-7days away and gotta come directly from Dorman

Just get the ones from rock auto.....they will be at your door tomorrow.
Get the Moog arms.
I would only get Moog....

Moog doesn't need the warranty...its a better part that's why its costs more.

For uppers and lowers I only use Moog.
You do it once and your done for 100k.

Who knows how long the budget crap will last, then your doing it all over again.

Hell the cost of the re-aliment you will need after you replace the life time cheapos pay for the Moog upgrade.

Dorman is anything but cheapo stuff...there actually a very good part supplier in the aftermarket OEM quality parts....mind you i have never installed Dorman chassis components, but everything else i have has been top notch...im gonna chance this one...i like the warranty

I would say pm Jamie see if he has any he gave me a killer deal on my upper and they were practically new and OEM at that. I was very happy with the parts and price I got from him.

In my experience the frame side Moog bushings will be okay as long as you're mindful to not over-tighten them.

Look here...CLICK

That's at Advance Auto. $80.99 for the Moog lowers. I also get a 10% military discount at Advance, but still a much better price. Also has a lifetime warranty through Advance...just bring them in and they'll swap them out.

--And there are stores everywhere. You don't need to have them shipped. If they don't have them, they can usually get them the next morning.

GET THE MOOGS!!

Lower control arms

Hey, I don't know what rock auto is doing for you, but when I searched, I came up with $107 a piece for the Moog Lower Control Arms.
If the T-bird ones truly are the same, why are they just above half the price?

I replaced all my strut rod bushings with the blue moog ones, and I am happy with them, especially after reading this, as I thought the alignment people left the frame side ones loose. When I would hoist the car, it appeared as if they moved more than they should. I have yet to check the torque on them, as I don't possess a 30mm deep socket.

Anyhow, I have a bit of squeaking/rattling in my front end, and have found the source to be the rubber bushing where the LCA mounts to the bottom of the strut. Therefore I must replace these. Any links on how to get the ~$60 LCA's from Moog would be appreciated.

the lincoln name brand seems to carry a higher price tag.

i have the same problem with moving bushings. some people shorten the sleeve to put more pre load on the bushing.
