And now the question you guys have probably been hit with a million times before I ever joined this site...How much HP / TQ can I expect to gain with long tube or shortie headers? Oh yeah and will the sound change as much as it does on Mustangs? I'd love to have a Lincoln that struck fear into the hearts of BMW, Cadillac, and a few import owners.
Lastly, what's involved with the swap? I have an exhaust guy on standby, just need info on doing the header install.

Get outta Dodge!!!!...no pun intended. You just got my mouth watering now. What's involved with the install?

I think the kooks added 30hp, this is just off of memory though.
holy! i didnt know it was THAT much...i smell someone kookin with gas soon.

Two ?'s:

1- Are the Kooks headers smog legal?
2. Do they add horsepower, or just free up lost horsepower lost from drivertrain/ power loss?

We provided the vehicle for the Kooks testing and manufacturing. It is our good customer Irving Perkins car. The car had our chip, maf, mufflers, twin xx pipe. It made after LTH 30hp and 15ft lbs of tourque.

So the Mustang longtubes are really different? What about the Mustang shorties? What involved in the swap? Do I have to drop the K-member? Will a FWD engine support work, if so?

Now I have a few more questions before I take off looking for headers...Will a transmission jack do? Other than the engine, brakes and steering, what else is attached to the K-member?
