I was sitting in line at Wendy's today and in front of me was a 1st gen LS. The driver was a young toolbag with a crooked NY Yankees hat on, but i'll leave him out of this. The car seemed to be a stock LSE, was sadly all beat to hell but i noticed a couple things:

First thing i noticed was the name badge on the back was attached to the taillight, which i forgot was how they were on 1st gens, ugly in my opinion, sorry 1st gen owners, but it only had LS not LSE.

Next was he had a license tag lamp out which is just yelling "HEY PULL ME OVER" because i'm a toolbag.

My main thing though was the exhaust, it had the dual pipe LSE exhaust but the passenger side had the pipes busted off of the muffler. I noticed there is only one hole coming out the back of the muffler, then i look at the drivers side and it looks like one of the dual pipes is just a "dummy" pipe and is connected to nothing, its just there for looks. What the hell? Can anyone with a genuine LSE tell me if thats true? I was thinking maybe it comes off the muffler as one pipe then makes a "U" shape making it look dual, but it definately looked a little strange. I managed to snap a picture with my phone but its still on my phone.

Im pretty sure it's just like any dual tip you buy at the store, single pipe that Y's into two tips.

Maybe it was a stagerd pipe with chrome tips on.

The pipe being a smaller diameter than the tips would make the offset tip look almost as if it is just there in the right lighting.

Thats the best I could explain.

I have an '02 first gen LSE. The car has a true dual exhaust, however the tips are a "Y" type tip.

If his taillight only has the LS logo - its probably not a true LSE unless he had his trunk cover replaced due to an accident, ect. I love when other LS drivers get behind me and I can tell they are looking at that LSE logo with jealosy... :)

Maybe, but anyone can buy the LSE badge from ken, and slap it on the tail light. I'm debating removing the "LINCOLN" badge from the driver side tail light.

Did you race him?
Well....he got his burger before me so he got me there, BUT...they screwed up his order so he had to pull around and go inside which then gave me the lead !!!! We werent racing but i still won !!! Just kidding, here's the pic....you can see how the one pipe looks like its not functional. The car looked like hell, i loved the old 90's looking cell antenna on the rear window.

Man, didnt even catch that. The spoiler gave me the impession that they just added some junk to the car, but the LSE kit looked legit. The car was total junk...it had a tire that looked almost flat, broken tailpipe, the broken tailpipe was loose and bounced around when he took off, chipped paint, scuffs and scratches everywhere, horrible engine/exhaust sound, dumb cell phone antenna...oh yeah, and the toolbag driving the car with the crooked NY hat.

P.S. - Toolbag = R-Bones .....do a search :) The type of guy you just wanna backhand really hard.

Lol. Yup, the 7Ft tall R-Bones pic - should be put in the b*tch slap thread with FAIL below it, along with the other classic failure - bicycle mirrors man.

There are various stages of "Tool"

1. Tool
2. Tool Bag
3. Tool Box
4. Tool Shed
5. And when you really need to get down and dirty, Home Depot.
