I was curious what options there are for injectors for a 2000 Lincoln LS V-8.

I have Team Ford and Five Star Ford bookmarked and a price ($87.44 ea.), but was wondering if there were any other quality injectors out on the market for the LS.

Are they shot or do they just need to be cleaned?

Have them cleaned and flow-tested, a shop here does that for $20/injector.

Would be interested...

My uncle just dropped off a tool to check the pressure at the rail.

I would be interested in the contact for getting them cleaned and pressure checked.

I am not sure which one(s) are dirty and/or shot, but when the car gets hot, wait 5 min. to restart, it cranks for a long time before starting. Spoke with a few others on here that had similar issues and seems like injectors were the culprit. I replaced 4 oxygen sensors, IAC valve, MAF sensor, 8 coils and spark plugs (money well spent though). I figure that I am down to 8 injectors. It ran great on Friday - no misses like it had before. I just bought this 2000 LS V-8 and I am giving it some TLC.

pulled #1-4

I pulled #'s 1-4. Maybe I will try to find a place to get these ones cleaned and see what happens.

I tried to take a pic to show how dirty they were when I pulled them.

So it looks like you started working on it yourself. Good luck. It's not too bad. I bought my first 3 from autozone for $70 + tax. The next 5 I got from team ford for $82 a piece, I think. The autozone ones were identical to the team ford ones except the part numbers were grinded off and they were each missing the top blue o ring. So far, all 8 are working great and haven't had a problem since.

i'm interested to hear if anyone did any modifications to get rid of the air assist and put in real injectors.

Michael, can you do me a favor while your in there? I need pics of the fule rails and the intake. where the air assist is hooked into. I dont have the time to rip into mine with my 70+ hours a week. If you have the time, can you please get a ton of pics in that area. I'm trying to see about getting rid of the injectors like I listed above. PM me or just email me if you happen to snap some pics for me. Please and thank you!

Ford had to do everything they can to meet the CAFE standards with the GEN1 - no SST first, air-assist, ....etc - the Gen2 gets there by throttle-by-wire, VVT, better tuning with intake/exhaust, ....

when I replace the manifold for the SC project I dumped the air-assist rail and went with standard injectors - but the manifold is designed for them.

How to...

Yes, I have dug into this project. I sent 4 injectors to Injector-Rehab in NJ.

How do I get to the injectors on the driver's side? It is like a spider web in there plus the fuel rail rear bolt is a real pain to get to. I keep hitting the hose above it and cannot get it. I tried the socket as well as a wrench. Any tips on how to get the driver's side rail off and injectors out would be appreciated.

I have attached some pics...

Got 5-8 out tonight...

3 sore knuckles, 1 bloody finger, and 1 hour later, I got #'s 5-8 out. I ended up using a close-end wrench. Going to have to get a set of metric ratchet wrenches.

I had no problems pulling #1-4 out on Sunday, but these were a real pain to get out. More buildup on these injectors compared to the others. I think that the real trick to #5-8 and is try to get as much of the lines and electrical out of the way of the fuel rail and also get the engine cover metal support off to clear room.

I have also discovered, as mentioned on some previous posts, those plastic clips snap right off. Guess I will be zip-tie happy in a few weeks.

Putting this back together is going to be interesting.
