Anyone have suggestions for the "LS scetion" of LVC?

Seriously though; most the websites I have seen are broken down into: Gernal Tech (questions, builds, DIY's, major stickies, etc.) and Performance (move all the threads lower in the main page into it so you don't have to leave the LS section to view it).

I'd imagine thats more of the site domain set up that LVC purchased... dont know if that can be changed...

IMO, we need to create a pinned thread that lists all of the posted DIYs. That will make them easy to find and access for all of us, especially new members. The only hard part is putting that together.

or if someone went through and updated the tech articles with with ^ more DIY, better pics, for info, etc. A ton of good info thats spread around multiple threads

For example, this is how the GS300 section is broken down on clublexus. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-generation-184/

This is somewhat similar to the LVC forum because we have several specific make and models within a forum, that are broken down into models and generations. What I really wanted to point out was the stickied threads when you click that link. Instead of "lower ball joint DIY" we could have "our coils are the worst DIY". Someone could get working on a Sticky to consolodate all the best and most used threads into one "link" list or just copy and paste the main post. $0.02

Perhaps a drop down tree(similar to the rockauto.com) layout for the more commonly asked questions. Maybe have the most asked question in bold(example: coils or degas bottle) and then have a dropdown of the top 3 applicable existing threads. Perhaps that type of visual may help reduce some of the redundant questions. Of course, a category called "Most Common LS Issues" would be a great place to put this tool.

I can do that I had planned on a couple more like the sticky I made

One of the ones i was going to do was a trouble code list and a list of the codes for the pats light, I can do the DIY one too

You start the thread with all the info. I will "pin" it.:) Members can then add more info as time goes on. Try to save members on searching and starting the same thread every few weeks.

Include an area on the left (as seen by red arrow below) with the type of LS.
Basics we seem to ask for the LS: (Year, V6/V8, Sport/Non-Sport)

Example, new field:
LS: 2002, V8, Sport

I saw your post with my avatar and thought you were going to bust me arse about my post count.:N Then I read your post.:Bang..........

That would be something a admin would have to do. I will suggested it to one. :)

How about an appreciation in value for the LS to keep out illiterate riff-raff :)

If we do that, you will have to leave...... Really.:slap: We have enough sexy, clean, black LSes here. You sir have been voted off the island.:p

How about an IQ test?

Moderated tech threads, or an easier way to update the tech ref section.

ie, the "Real Owner's Manual" thread is good, but it's getting cluttered with off-topic responses. Also, you can only edit your posts for a certain period of time, so keeping a tech reference thread up to date is difficult. Not sure what can be done there, but moderation can at least keep down the unhelpful stuff.

Another option would be turning the tech section into a wiki.

As far as the threads, I think there's maybe just enough traffic to break the LS section into a couple of sub-sections. Like tech/appearance/general. The activity might be just right to keep it all as-is, also.

I just deleted 2 pages of unless post from the "Real Owner's Manual" topic. Cleaned it up a bit. Also added "Basic tips and info" to the title. Hopefully, new members with basic questions will read this topic more.

I doubt the admins would want to do sub-sections for the LS guys. If they did for us, they would have to do it for all the other makes as well.

Got a response from admin about it. Most members will not fill out the area.

how about a feature that automatically bans you if you start a new thread about something that was already on the first page?

True but very unfortunate. For those who do and come ask questions it would surely help make answering easier.

Did we lose HyeLife as our main LS Mod? He hasn't been around much lately. I see you're listed as a staff member now Rollin. Congrats :)
