LS gave me an Excelent suprise today

One thing thou. When claiming quickest time for a car. Proof is needed. If a 03-04 Cobra guy says he ran 11.9 stock on street tires on a Cobra board, people will say prove it. I'll be the first to eat my shorts if I hit a 13.9. Going to need cut-outs for that LOL, don't intend to do that thou. Once I feel I've hit my best with the LS, I'm switching to my MarkVIII for racing.

And thats why I conceded the argument to you, you have proof I don't. I could make clams all day but I don't have the slips to prove it right now.

That said nothing I have said here is outside the range of possibility and the math dose support me so I think I should be given the benefit of the doubt but thats by no means conclusive.

I like how all of you bring out the select shift, I have had old cars and new, select and non-select automatics, when I race with an auto, I dont give a fu<k, I still shift it myself. Took many months at the track figuring out my own redlines. Once you learn when your engine stops pulling, you will learn exactly when to shift. That is your redline. in my 89 5.0 I never got beat by a 96-04 mustang, the 4.6 just doesnt have the torque of the 5.0. I dont give a dam what numbers say, I driven both. I had exhaust and intake on mine. It took exhaust, shifter, tune, and a modified intake for my friends 04 to hang. Driving my Ls, it is very hard for me to see an LS take a Mustang, maybe an auto with an untalented driver. Or maybe if your tuned. Just dont see it guys. TA, Mustang GT, M3, Camaro, Wrx, a real Evo, they will eat me up all day.

(rhetorical question)why race any of these cars? i mean there not meant to be raced. there is not 1 fast lincoln IMHO. if you want fast you need a car built for speed, cough:koenigsegg:cough. if you want to be fast maybe you should save up for a lambo at the LEAST

BTW i am NOT tryn to discourage anyone from building up their lincoln nor am i criticizing anyones modifications or time slips. someone prove me wrong and build a 9 second 1/4 mile lincoln, that would be amazing

I agree why race but its fun....My big dream when I actually bought this car was to drop it via air bag's and kit. then putting on even deeper wheels and cambering it out....rolling the fenders+pulling. That was my first idea....now I'm having fun waiting till I get the money for the rest...Thats all for me.

87% of the time my kids with also shes only 7 months so when I get a chance to when shes not around I stalk all the punks that mess with me cause my car looks sleek, when I cant drive like a ass.

I had a 70 Plymouth furry III I used to neutral drop...LOL...j/k but I did and that was fun.

Building a 9 second anything is pretty good. I would like to see an 11 or 12 second Lincoln. You could first start by doing an engine, computer, transmission and driveshaft swap. Might as well get another car.

I watched a kid do that once in his Monte Carlo, needless to say, he didnt make it very hard. I laughed so hard, my abs were sore the next day. Cried a little too.

Im sorry but I always hate when people try to use this argument. Well why race lawnmowers there not meant for speed or for that matter why play a game of ball with your friends the not pro's.

Plenty of 11 and 12 second Lincolns out there. May not be LS's, but hey, who's counting :D

The SST in LS is OK, but compared to similar systems in other makes (BMW or Mercedes for example) it is a POS.

+1 The SMG system in the BMW would blow your mind compared to the little kids SST system we have.

This is very true but I dont drive a BMW or a Benz:cool:

But from what I read up on, this was the best SST out when it was introduced. Then after Mercedes and BMW followed and improved the versions they made. Thats just what I hear.

Anyways, its fun to use if the car has to be driven by another pearson that cant drive stick( wife's/girlfriends) plus I think it gets annoying hearing that high low brrrr..BRRRR...brrr when just cruising and the trans down shifts then up shifts when you just move your foot around and its in D5/D4 and you have a noisy exhaust.

Anyone ever wonder what life with the LSV8 would be like if it were stick?
