lower intake manifold

I am having trouble removing the front bolts from the lower intake manifold on my gen 2. How do I get those off? Do I have to remove the coolant hoses on either side? If so how is this done?

remove the coolant crossover pipe first you cant get the intake bolts in the front off without removing the tube first.
