ok guys about 2 weeks ago i changed out my radiator cause it had a leak. I changed it out myself and ever since it keeps telling me low coolant right after i fill it up. Im assuming its air in the system....does anybody have the bleeding procedure? and if anyone has any good suggestions im all ears....thanks for the help dudes. oh and i forgot to mention that i smell coolant....and theres no leaks.

The pipe that runs over the alternator has a cap with a 1/4" indention, remove that and fill the coolant there. Start the car and continue adding coolant as needed. Replace the steel cap (its under your "Intech" Alt cover)

Check your heater core above passengers feet for leaks. Chances are you're just smelling the coolant because its starting to over heat due to the improper level

check your hose clamps if there squeze clamps they may not hold tight enought. Also make sure level sensor in coolant jug isnt stuck down. If it is lightly tap the jug and it should corect the issue.

Don't forget to burp it ... as you add coolant sometimes you get an air bubble in the system ...

On every Mark VIII I've owned I would run into the low coolant warning. Then wait a few minutes and run a test and coolant level is fine. Never getting the warning again for a few months.

well the problem is that when i add coolant i drive around for like 20 mins and the coolant warning comes on and the coolant is gone so i have to fill it up again.
also the car doesnt overheat the needle always stays in the middle.

when i fill it through the crossover indection do i have to wait for the thermostat to open up and continue adding coolant?

Just keep periodically topping it off a little at at time. The low coolant level is because the reservoir is low. You probably burped it already.

No, but keep checking filling it at the crossover tube.
If you have no leaks it will get burped and the message will go away.

Hmm, you sure there are no leaks? Mine had a problem, after I drove around, came home, and let it sit, would come outside to find water on the ground, not sure what it was, but it hasn't happened since. Also, check your crossover tube, water could be coming out the heads, because of bad o-rings on the tube, and traveling down the intake valley and dripping down somewhere. I have also read somewhere that the water pump can go bad or something, and is known to lose water? Just some opinions, good luck!

I had a friend that had a similar issue & it turns out they had a super duper small leak in the radiator. The water would "leak" evaporate when the radiator would gain pressure so he would never see the actual water leaking. Hope that's not your issue because it could be a pain to find.

I left the cap off the crossover tube and let it run for 20 minutes while I continued to fill it until it wouldn't take anymore and yes I waited for the thermostat to open. I believe the sticker under the hood say's to do it this way and I didn't have a problem.
