Today driving home i had some dude on the highway catch up to me and say how good my exhaust sounded....lol. Not bad for a 1996 LSC with removed mufflers.

I floored it to let him hear it, he gave another thumbs up, he was driving a Corolla btw haha. Anyway, i want the Mark to be MUCH louder, i just got my car inspected, so i'm really thinking about sawzall'ing the exhaust right after the front 2 cats, this would mean i'm removing the 3rd cat, and dumping the exhaust under the drivers/pass seat.

My 1995 V8 Thunderbird had this done, and it sounded as if HELL was coming when you floored it, how will the Mark sound?? Will it be MUCH louder compared to just removed mufflers like what i got now??

ITs a MARK not a mustang... take some time and do it right... jeeze

Not only that, you don't want any exhaust gases being able to make their way up into the cabin - maybe not such a problem when traveling at speed, but when sat in traffic... Could be dangerous.

Might hurt performance too!

You could PM LvC member AbrahamLincoln - he was running around for a while with his exhaust cut after the third cat - he must have 'seen the light' though, as he has since switched to a more typical dual set up.

I drove around like that for 2 days when I was geting my exhaust done. It was fukking terible, LOUD, but terrible.

Do you want your car loud 'cause you like loud or are you trying to be noticed by others?
If all you're doing is trying to impress others, then just hack it off and go asphixiate yourself.

There are many ways to do your exhaust loud and safe.

Try this: Cut it off after the front cats. Put in an 'x' or double 'x' pipe. Then dump the exhaust out the sides right in front of the rear wheels 'nascar style'. This will get the exhaust gas out from under the car and put the loud near your ears.

I've never seen or heard of this done on a Mark. I've done this type of exhaust on many cars in the past. It sounds great.

Removing the third cat will not effect inspection on an OBD2 car. The third cat is after the monitor O2s.

And I agree with everyone who says it will sound like crap and be dangerous.
