Loud thud noises over bumps

I currently don't have access to my car but I do own a 2002 LS V8 non-sport, so I'm guessing that would be the 28.5mm?

28.5 for non-sport. My dealership quoted me $125 to change them. I'm thinking $125 is worth it to save a headache.

^ Haha if you don't mind spending the cash really thats not a bad deal at all. See if they'll do it for $100. Just remember to REALLY lube up the new ES bushings when you install them. About 2mo after I installed mine I have a slight creaking when the sway bar is in action. But thankfully they're re-greasable and pretty easy to access the grease points.

i actually really love the silver on Autumn red, it matches my silver wheels.

just be glad if ya'll have 1st gens, on 2nd gens, the bushing is molded around the sway bar and can not be removed with out being cut off. its a tight space to even get a dremill up there and that is thick steel for one of those baby cut off wheels (or 11)

just bought my bushings from energy suspension. my mechanic says it will cost about 30 bucks in labor to put them on. hopefully the noise will be fixed

Oh you'll love how silent its going to ride. Just make sure they're greased good so you don't have to grease them again in a month or two.

And $30 bucks. Poor sucker doesn't know what hes getting into for $30.

thats exactly what i was thinking when he told me 30 for labor. i've had the sound for way too long now i can't wait for some silence.

And thanks to everyone for your help

My bushing from Energy Suspension just came in today.

It might be cheaper for me to drive from AZ to PA and back, and have your guy replace them for $30. I'd get to see more of the USA that way too. :shifty:

bushings came in saturday, they are gonna be installed on thursday. will let everyone know how it goes

Got my bushings installed on thursday and now she rides like a dream. No more noise :)

Cool. What did your installer have to say about the $30 and how hard it was to install them?

Well it turned out that he meant $30 for each one so it was a total of sixty some bucks but i figured that still wasn't too bad. I asked if they were a pain to install and he said that it wasn't a problem.

Nice man 60 bucks a steal honestly I remember when i replaced mine, it was a great day its amazing how much damn noise the bushings make when theyre bad.

Yeah it's super quiet and it rides so much better. Now i can hear all the other little noises haha.

Lol yup! Check lower balljoints next i replaced those soon after the bushings were installed.

I actually got balljoints last year but thanks for the tip manoli. My car really doesn't make any concerning noises now besides the brakes starting to squeak so that's next on my list.
