Looking to buy a 96' LSC Diamond Anniversary

Could have replaced the engine and kept motoring....
- As you can imagine, the rest of the car with 250,069 miles made it not worth changing the engine out. The paint was shot.........for the second time. I had it painted around 130k miles. Then it had a whole list of little problems that weren't worth fixing...........no abs, rear window bubbling, tranny wasn't perfect, headlights stunk, aftermarket exhaust almost competely rusted out, cats rusted out, radio didn't work great, etc., etc.

I bought a 98 LSC with 55k miles for $5,900, so that seemed like a better deal than spending at least $2k replacing the engine in my old 1993.

I'm just saying based on my experience a Mark VIII with 240k miles could blow a tranny or engine at any moment, not to mention a bunch of other parts. 250k miles is great for a Mark VIII or any other car, but I don't think she was made to go much past that...........most people here (and the other boards) haven't gone further.............excluding Tommy's fluke car.

With a paint job that will be a nice looking car. And while it may not be an LSC it will most certainly be faster than that 96.

why would it be faster?

yea it relly needs paint.
i drove it, the engine was sliky smooth, and the engine compartment was the cleanest ive ever seen:eek:
the tach doesnt work tho, does anybody know why that might happen?

More aggressive computer program. The 93 and 94 models are typically the fastest of the 1st gens.

oh ok cool, well im going to get in touch with the guy and see when he wants to come meet me so i can buy the car. if he hasnt allready sold it.
