Looking for screen

you put in a cd and have the unit program it as your unlock cd. So when the power is disconnected(stolen) the unit locks. So if you dont have the cd you to unlock the unit, you have to call ecplise and have them unlock it, but you must be have your recipt for a dealer such as crutchfield or a place ecplise sells too.

as long as you remember which CD you used, (you would have to be a fool to turn this feature on and choose a CD that you wouldn't remember) you could just download the CD and then burn it to a disc to unlock it, or worse case senerio, just go out and re buy the CD again. there shouldn't be a reason to call eclipse.

Really? Cause my battery completely died the other day and when I got a new one the radio didn't ask for a special disc. It has a security code feature on it, but I don't have it turned on.

yea you have to turn it on and select a CD to use as the "password"

i would recommend that you keep it turned off, since it does absolutely no good in preventing your stereo from getting stolen, you would still have a big hole in the dash, and you would still have to replace the stolen radio. then you dont have to remember what CD you used, a couple of years from now when you need to unlock it.

I agree with you about having a big whole in your dash either way. I am on my 3rd screen in 2 vehicles now and never turn on this feature. Thanks for reassuring me though.

but it allows the person that stole it not to use it or sell it, and if your smart you would get a warrenty. But i would turn the feature on since im between Philadelphia and Camden, NJ most of the time.
