Hey yalls I have a 93' my mods are:
Reinheart chip
Steeda ud's
12c plugs
8mm wires

My questions are will my car benefit from an adjustable fpr?
Should I add a cooler thermostat? As of now useing the stock one. I really don't want to gears or stall tc. Mabey a maf?

Gears are really the best with a trac lock and its very easy to install IMO. These cars really need 3.73 and up to compensate for the bad low end tq

Are you saying a set up full pumkin is easy to install or setting up gears and a T-lock in a housing is easy? Big diff from the 2.

will benefit from an adjustable fpr? not really.
will a colder thermostat help? kinda. on back to back drag strip runs.
will a new maf help? doubtful. the stock one is not a restriction.

dual exhaust. 4.10s and track lock. high stall converter. headers. someone did an oil pan with a windage tray. cobra intake. and so on.

i would do the exhaust, gears/track lock, and converter. best bang for the buck. might even get you 13s in the quarter.

Taking your original pumpkin out and setting up the t-lock with gears. Took me 2.5 hours

If you have the right tools, setting up gears is an art. Cost me about $250 in labor for a gear set up if I supply the parts.

I would suggest you reconsider what you "don't want to do". Your car and any Mark8 for that matter would be a night and day difference with a set of 4.10 gears and a stall converter. (That's some significant torque right there and you'll know it) Ignore the hogwash you hear about suffering mileage and driveability. The results after a gear swap and stall converter is not going to be a disastrous hit on your MPG with a wide-geared automatic overdrive transmission. I have full exhaust with headers, 4.30 gears, and a 3800 stall converter and still get 15mpg in the city. I was getting 17-18 in the city when it was bone stock and tons slower than it is now. I recently drove back my newly purchased 97 Mark8 with 4.10s and the Vortech supercharger and got 20 mpg on the highway coming back traveling at 75 mph. I would have easily been in the 20s had I kept it around 65-70 mph. And that is with about 460 hp at the crank.

Don't fear the gear or the stall. It's not a 3 speed. ;)

Which converter do you suggest and gear?
How meny 10ths in the quarter will that yield?

4.10 gears and a 3600-3800 stall converter with an additional transmission cooler. Those 2 things with everything else left alone should be good for consistent mid14s.
