I'm at the exhaust shop now waiting to get my brand new LMS Catback Exhaust installed. I'm pretty excited because I have been waiting awhile to get it all set up. I can't wait to see it on the car and hear how it sounds. I'll post pics as soon as its done! ;) :D

Id be standing under the car with the tech helping him and getting in his way with my camera and post pictures in real time. :D

JK... but I would.

Lucky dog, Im hoping to have a next to free set of flowmasters installed in a couple of weeks but id rather have the LMS mufflers!!!

LOL well I am helping! And snapping pics. For some reason my damn phone won't let me upload pics directly. I have to email them to my computer then upload them : /

i cant wait to take my mark viii in for true duals...im going high flow cats and everything...not sure what style mufflers yet...i find that LMS exhaust kind of raspy...i will most likely go with mid mounted magnaflow mufflers...and a h pipe

and yes pictures would be awesome, i would like pics of the entire underneath once installed so i can show my exhaust guy so he gets the idea

So here are the pics!!! Sorry for the quality :( Oh my facking GAWD it sounds amazing!!! Thanks to Geno for the exhaust, the advice, the service, and the referral to the guys that put it on!!!:D

looks awesome but without that 3rd cat, how would the car pass emissions? that is an issue where im at....im assuming that is not a concern for you, can you post a video of how it sounds, it looks great

Whats all that orange stuff on the bottom of the car?

If they only run a sniffer then you are fine. That third part while it is kinda a cat its mostly for sound. Do a before and after air sample and I bet the CO2 difference is neglageable.

Here in Maryland they just scan OBDII cars. As long as there are no codes it passes. Since the 3rd cat is after the rear O2's there is no problem. I can try to get a sound clip but I'm pretty new here so certain things still pwn me LOL. Best comparison I can give is go to youtube and listen to Geno's commercial at full volume. That's what it sounds like in the car when you gas it!

The third cat is actually an NOx trap. Nitrides of Oxygen. I believe that is something they test for nowadays.

Its rust!!! Lol That bar under the spare tire well and a few nut and bolt heads are the only places on the car so I don't mind. I guess I'll have to pull that bar and paint it:D

When I did my 97 I had them install the magnaflow 2.25 dual in 2.5 dual out in place of the 3rd cat, the run pipe all the way back. It sounded amazing, Never had Issues with emisions but here in NV they only do a obdII scan and no visual inspection is needed. I also had magnaflow Highflow cats installed. I will probably do my 98 shortly the same way. since I only spent 400 including Installation.

my car is going in for true duals in the spring, im gonna run 2 highflow 3 way convertors...hopefully it passes the sniffer as we have an actual drive on etest here in Ontario, Canada

I just want to mention again that Geno from LMS is a great person to do business with and makes a great product. He even went so far as to call the shop and see how things were coming along when he saw my post saying I was there getting it done. Not too many people would go the extra mile like that!

Those dual tip mufflers look great :)

Here in Ontario, they should not be putting a Mark VIII on a dyno for the Drive Clean program at all. It should just be a sniffer in the tailpipe test due to the air suspension. They should have a list of cars that can't be done on the machine, posted on the machine! ;)

What was your total cost and did you feel the difference after it was installed ?

The cost was right around $700. Which didn't include the fuel and tolls to drive to NJ and I also bought lunch for the guys at the shop to show my appreciation for the great work they did.
There is a noticable difference in both the low end and top end acceleration. Also I've noticed that the car coasts better. I guess the better flow allows the RPMs to stay up longer when you let up off the gas.
