i feel the same way, is it worth it? i would maybe join if you can pay online, but i dont wanna mail a check in. how many members are in it?

I am a member of both. I have been a member of the LLSOC for a number of years now, and am a Gold member of LvC.

I am also active on LincolnsOnLine and AutomotiveForums.

Each board has it's on style - they are all different and compliment eachother very well.

The LLSOC is strickly about the LS - has been around for 5 years and has a deep set of members and knowledge about the LS. There are LS engineers that are part of the board, LS group meetings, ... the city of Dearborn created 'LS day' when the LLSOC group event met there a coupe of years ago. They also sponsor the LS entry to the One Lap Of America. If you are focused on a LS it's worth a visit.

This board brings member of other cars - other Lincolns and Caddys. There are more discussions because there are more members, the talk is a little more frank, and opinionated. There L vs C theme brings a different flavor.

I like my LS alot. I joined as many clubs, boards as possible. The more sharing the better.

yes - it's nation wide. members were prototype for magnaflow, and now boosthead.

I learned alot from people like you, the LLSOC, this board and all the manuals/books.

This board has alot to offer and being so new has alot of members ------ members = knowledge :Beer .

I'm with Lou on this. I've been a member of LLSOC for around 3 years and there is an extraordinary amount of information there on just the LS. I'm a Regional Director with LLSOC and I've been to their event called Mania. It's a GREAT event with all of the Lincoln engineers and executives there.

Now, I'm a Gold Member here because I want to support other forums that are dedicated in the same passion....CARS! I really enjoy the forum on LvC and want to share my experiences with the community as well. I like the diversity here with other car models and makes. It makes it unique.

I'd say if you are a die hard fan join both. However, $30-$35 isn't a whole helluva lot of money especially for a year. You spend more than that getting a Coke out of the vending machine at work each year. Do you get that much enjoyment out of the Coke than you do your LS? I sure as hell don't!

I would be interested in joining llsoc just for more of the technical diy stuff that I hear that it offers. I hate paying a dealership to fix something that just a little time and brainwork would fix, so any resource that would help me from really messing up my car would be worth it to me. So. . . are there more diy resources at llsoc? I read thier information that is available to non members before I bought my LS and found it very helpful and informative, but it would also be great to hear from the engineers and other knowledgeable folks. $35 a year is not much, . . .

The answer is going to differ depending on who you ask.

The biggest differences are this. LLSOC is only Lincoln LS owners. LVC has members who own both the LS and other Lincoln and Cadillac Models.

LLSOC requires you to pay $35 before you see anything. All the mechanical information and how to articles here at LVC are free. We have a Gold member option which is $30 a year, but not joining doesnt keep you from learning and participating.

Other then that - each board has it's strengths and weaknesses, and what those are will depend on who you ask. Some people hate LLSOC and love LVC -- others feel the opposite im sure. Im not a member of LLSOC so I have no opinion about them.

What I can tell you is this. We have a GREAT bunch of members here at LVC who will go out of their way to help other members with anything they can. I am proud of LVC and of the LVC membership, and welcome anyone who loves cars. You wont find a better group of people anywhere as far as im concerned.

Welcome to LVC!

By the shop manuals first! I did spend a year at llsoc 3 years ago. I am sure much has changed but at the time I did not find any value in it. I am an open source kind of guy not to the point that of being a socialist though.

I think they offer a free 6 month trial membership if they are check it out. You owe it to yourself to investigate. I am on 3 open boards LvC, automotiveforums and lincolnsonline. Sometimes edmunds; they all keep me informed and I try to contribute what I can when I can to them all.

Joeychgo,

And proud you should be. This is a great board with lots of great folks willing to share. All the work you do in keeping it up is a great service to the community. Suppose that if other members thought about it they would also want to give you a great big thanks for all your work. You certainly have mine! Lincolnlov

Hey quik you know what ya should do.. Is log in a leave a post a message about possibly accecpting paypal or something. I've printed out the form a few months ago and just haven't worked up to actually writing the check and sending it in.. Sure would be way more convenient if people could just pay with paypal or something and probably a little more secure and quicker too.. Best of both worlds.. But you don't have to.. lol

Holy Crap...there's finally someone here that lives in STL... :eek2:
I have been kinda leary of joining LLSOC because of the fact that you cannot even get a trial membership to check out their product. But lately I've been thinking about it. But for now I am completely satisfied with the LVC community... :V

There was a 30 day free trial membership when I joined (about 2 years ago), but I don't know if Brian still offers that or not.

I rarely check this site out, and today I got here by following a link from another board, where they were fighting a Caddy vs Lincoln arguement.

This site is much nicer than the last time I checked it out, maybe I should stick around a bit.

Edit: Just realized this was my first post! :L :ban

I almost just want to join LLSOC just so I can get the intake kit they sell...

by the way Kevin :W 2 :V

What board? and im glad you like the improvements - more to come.

Thanks for the welcome Steve, and Bryan - yep, that's a threat :D.

Joe, the site was General Mayhem, a site that I check out every so often when boredom kicks in. Bunch of know nothing kinda people who spouted off about how lame the LS was.
