Lincoln should build a '13 LS on this platform.

whos complaining about marks??

I mostly see mark guys coming over here calling our cars galants which are jap pieces of :q:q:q:q and having nothing to do with ford. Likewise ive never owned a mark so i cant say anything about it other than i just dont like the looks of it.

Just add periods to make things easier to read.

Now if we wanna go back and forth then i have plenty of things to say about that wanna be mustang.

Lol it's actualy based on the thunderbird, my 95 Milly is nicer and faster then an ls. I bought it over an ls. If you ever drove a mark you'd drive your ls into a rock pile like that video.

precisely and i am using spaces if you really wish for me to break into double spacing would be just ludicrous. As he said this is the internet and these forums, and websites dont always function correctly. i could see if on top of my grammatical errors i was using misspelled words and such. but i am not ,that said my tenure here is different from yours every ones tours are different ive been through countless engagements, and this go has been by far the most unnerving to my surprise ... ah f it bro w/e

Yeah im sure with a 7.8 sec 0-60 its way faster than an LS...:shifty:

Im sure its way nicer with a cloth interior as well. The only mazda i would ever drive is a mazdaspeed 6. And ive driven a thunderbird..enough said.

Nothing against you its just one of those personal pet peeves that gets really annoying. I don't jump on people or have an issue with anyone but ive been on forums for many years now and punctuation is preffered. And double spacing isnt necessary either.

btw i am neither ls nor mark guy i am a ford lincoln mercury guy. that said i think the ls is an amazing vehicle missing only an after market. basically the same for any car from flm other than the mustang f150, and focus.

Im not an LS guy either or a lincoln guy.

Matter fact this is the first domestic vehicle i own, my previous was a 97 mistubishi suv (lol not a galant) that still runs today.

Before buying the ls i had it narrowed down between a 300 srt8, a modded mustang GT, or a navigator.

The days of the V8 are about over except in certain situations, i.e. heritage sports car vehicle platforms. This whole green movement is serious business. No love for gas anymore

Does everyone ignore cars like the Mustang, Camaro and Challenger? The Mustang just got an all-new V8, it's not going away.

Ford needs to build a Lincoln based on the Mustang. Fact.

My milly has a full leather 2 tone interior, heated seats, sun roof, Bose stereo telescoptic steering wheel, and auto clime control. Oh and it's a supercharged v6 with a shift kit can your ls roast the tires shifting into 3rd? Didn't think so. I've races ls6 and ls8 and I've beaten both ls8 put up a good fight but i still beat him.

I think he was talking more about a V8 sedan.. ;)

Right. But my LS is barely any longer than a Mustang as it is... ;) I'd say it's close to it as far as back seat space goes.

Did you know the DEW98 platform that our cars rest on was originally intended to also be used on the Mustang as well? If the Thunderbird was a success it probably could've happened, but with the IRS + other factors they decided it's too expensive.

In 2014 the Mustang is rumored to be getting an IRS. I see a connection here... and it says LS replacement by 2014 or bust!

depending upon who you ask the ls,and mustang are both built on the same chassis. now the new mustang im not sure, that said the falcon may come to the states. but expect to pay in the area of 60k+ for any v8 variant.

And its a 15 year old vehicle.

Im not the one trying to start a pissing contest but if i wanted to race i would have bought a sports car not a luxury sedan.

If i really wanted to i could go buy a $5,000 car that would smoke the piss out of your mazda but thats not my intention.

also i must say after owning both the ls feels much quicker, the mark tho had an overall sportier feel to it imho. but research has yielded 6.2-.4 n the ls 0-60 the mark 6.8-7.5 but the deal breaker is the trans 1 extra speed makes a lifetime of difference. 1st gear in the ls in sst mode i believe, is just plain amazing simply put.

No offense but all those things were nice features...back in 1995. :p A Focus has had those options for the past decade.

But the real test is if you hold down the key fob unlock for your mark do all your windows open??? I didn't think so! Advantage: LS.

I hope you can tell I'm joking with you here!

Also, I know it's not a concern for your average go-fast kiddie, but I'd definitely take the LS over a Mark for the improvements to safety alone. (but I was in an accident that totaled my LS so I'm biased there...)

It's rumored that the next Mustang and Falcon will merge platforms. Mulally is not against RWD, he just hates wasting money and having single platforms for one car. If that goes through I bet they will make a Lincoln version

Ford stated they are keeping Lincoln mid-range (as opposed to Cadillac and their CTS-V stuff). I don't think you'll find a base sedan that isn't loaded with options near 60k. Ford stated the 35k-55k price range if I remember what I read right. (I can't find my source for this)

They said this for the new Lincolns that are coming out, its not true for the MKS, MKT, and Navigator those both can go over 60k

the new Lincoln's being the MKX, MKZ, and MKwhatever the hell CUV based on the Escape

ok as far as the price just how the market looks if you think a 40k re badged falcon would kill sales for the mks. i mean provided you get a v8 for that price, and a rwd v6 non boosted falcon(ls) doesn't make much sense either for that price range.

also w/ my immediate experience in the insurance field with my ls. they are a bit on the expensive side sheet metal wise some how my cars damage is 10k worth. well thats how much i got for it all and all. my vicky can take a stab at a wall at 50 and drive away, but she gets like 12mpg too so...shruggs
