HELP! My booboos broken?

Ok so.. I love my car to death but as of lately she hasnt been so appreciative. First off.. she misfires like every other lincoln ls it seems and recently shes been failing to start. When turning the key, I wait for everyting to stop beeping before turning on the engine but as soon as it begins the odometer and every other measuring tool on the dash goes all the way to the left like to the max and then back right to 0 right before the alarm begins to sound. Just today, as i put the key to the on position with the engine off, my rear sensors began to sound. Not too sure if its battery related because I had my bumper replaced with new sensors so this new tid bit is a bit baffling.. None the least, while the key is in the on position, when I apply the brake it the abs light illuminates with each breakage saying check advancetrac. The engine oil and battery are also illuminated as well. Im not sure if there is something wrong with maybe how the wiring was done seeing as my car was rear ended while off, pushing it about 15 ft forward into neighbors driveway and resulted in a new frame replacement. Do you think this could have thrown off my wire setup in some way? I know my batterys not dead because in the manual it states trunk will not open with dead battery and everytime she refuses to start for me I can still open the trunk. The battery is mounted down firmly so I know its not back there rocking everywhere.. Ive pretty much grown accustomed to the "dead battery" and have learned to open the door and turn off headlights upon key removal but it still seems to die like someones sitting in there listening to my radio.. I took it to a trusted mechanic and when plugged up read no error codes and was told it started on the dot for them but not me.. I am so confused and have a Ford warranty so not so much stressed just more so irritated seeing as I bought the car and a week later it was involved in a drunk hit and run while a was sleeping. The car hasnt been right since.. If this sounds like an accident cause problem. I also just read in the manual on p 185 that "if the battery is disconnected (or removed), it will be necessary to reset the parking brake; the message center will display APPLY PARK BRAKE.." which it does in the on position but Ive been needing to have my park brake serviced since the accident so im not sure if this applies to me or not because my park brake is "broke." any and all info would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE HELP!!! Sorry about the length.. Ive just had too many problems with my girlfriend lately!!!

Oh yeah its a lincoln ls 2003 V8 sport. And its also gone into etc fail safe mode for the first time in the past month. Funny how every other post on not starting and alarm sounding seems to be an 03.. I think we should all file a claim against Lincoln. I love my car and think the creators should too seeing as theyre making a fortune off their defective model. Ugh i hate it.. I barely hit 85k Monday and have only had it since 73k. I know i need a tune up but have been getting my regular maintenance as advised to do so until then. Thanks again..

It sounds like you need a battery and some coils to start off with.

If you have a Ford war. bring it back and drop it in the dealers lap. Thats why you have it. This car will gang:q:q:q:q u with probems. Good Luck with the car and let us know how you make out.

most cars ive seen, when the needle bounces from one side to the other, its a dead battery, especially with the alarm following that

Do a search. It is indeed a well known symptom of a bad battery on the LS.

Battery is dying or the alternator is not charging it fully. You already know what to do about the misfires.

Or it's a gremlin. My Ls has one. Prayer, an autozone gift card, battery, coilpacks, sparkplugs, thermostat, fuel filter, and killing a goat did the trick for me.

Omg!

oh my goodness.. It really was only a dead battery! Cheap fix Id consider.. 120 for the 750 watt Motorcraft from ford (shouldve gotten it free i think ha. Thatd be too great though) and a free swap out from a friend. I cant wait to go to Wyotech to learn all this so I can help myself.. eventhough I couldnt build a battery ha! Thanks so much for all the replies! Especially Quikls. Ive seen you on pretty much ALL websites concerning our booboos. And sorry about the length but shouldnt you be used to everyone ranting and raving in ong paragraphs about their lover? No? Just me? Tha must be my English Major making its public announcement! Ha! Thank you thank you all anyway! I will definitely keep everyone posted as I plan to "Pimp" my booboo over the next few months, therefore pictures of me, alongside my booboo, are inevitable as well. Good luck with your booboo! I LOVE MINE!:leghumper ;)

Oh yeah wait.. Since Ive replaced the battery, its been running kind of rough, which of course is probably the coils none the least, but im not sure if the computer was reprogrammed right or not because I cant set the park brake because its broke and am wondering if setting the park brake is mandatory for system reprogramming or if it is just another area that has its own area to be reprogrammed? Thank you thank you!

Cheree.

Okay, I assume you mean that you are questioning if the engine computer has done a re-learn yet. (It's not reprogramming, it relearning of various adjustments.) The Electronic parking brake is a separate system and does not affect the engine computer relearn.
For the parking brake, check the ends of the cables where they attach to the rear calipers.

Oh i wish i knew where calipers were! Ha. Im actually about to go to school at Wyotech this fall so I can fix my baby myself but I will definitly look into that thank yu thank you for redirecting my misunderstanding; not too familiar with LS terms yet ha. but i do have a quick question though.. I know about oil leaking on the coils but Im not trying to pay Ford to inspect the left and right sides (for 135 each) just to tell me my cars misfiring because of a faulty valve cover or some crap so i was wondering if maybe someone could tell me how to get to the COPs so i can take pictures or maybe even record it so i can show the dealership there is oil on the coils so they will look and fix it for free since i already have the evidence.. any thoughts on this possibly working? Ha. And if someone does have the time to explain it all out could you please do it step by step in vivid detail so when I open my hood I actually know how to take off the v8 cover of my 03 and can access the parts.. Any and all input is greatly appreciated! Thanks and there will be pictures of me alongside my booboo.. probably in some heels. ;D ha.

ROTFL  My friend and I used to say similiar things about his POS '80 Cougar when we were in high school! lol

...I know about oil leaking on the coils but Im not trying to pay Ford to inspect the left and right sides (for 135 each) ...

So you do have more than 100,000 miles on it?

If not, there really is no charge, you just have to make sure the dealer knows about the program.

No im only at about 85500 right now.. So it should be covered? The looking or the replacing? Cause i know the replacing is ok I just dont want to be thinking i have to pay 270 to tell me something i already know.. or do they refund the money for looking if they discover my coils are drowning?

As long as your problem is coil failures, you won't have to pay for them to be diagnosed and replaced. Since you have an 03, they will also cover any oil leaks of the valve covers. However, please note that most coil failures are without any oil leak, and that is covered too.

man! if i still had a warranty i wouldnt even worry...i would just drop it off the dealer for any little thing and let them worry and sweat it out.

The problem with that is some dealers won't do anything! There are delaers out there that hate warranty work, and claim nothing needs fixed. If the OP can find a delaer that let's her do what you're stating, and fix the issues, she better keep a good relationship with them.
