Lincoln Mark VIII in NASCAR

Probably a repost. Not sure if any of you know or heard of this. I originally heard NASCAR turned the Mark VIII away because it was to fast in testing. I managed to find a link to the info. Enjoy guys.

I dunno if it was too fast or not but Ford didnt want lincoln racing figured it would hurt thier image?!

I remember Rusty Wallace used to have a car he named hotrod lincoln because it was a mark viii test car and they just rebodied it to be a tbird he won a few races with that chassis i believe. Just something I figured not many people here would know. Albeit I hate Rusty I remember a lot of stuff from the late 90s in Nascar
