dont u debade the car when ur ashamed of what u drive?

NO.

I debaged my Ford Focus, and evn my Lexus IS300. I was far from ashamed of eother.

I did it , because i ( along with MANY others) thought it looked cleaner. I didnt like the big bulky chtome lettering on the trunk lid. Maybe it was because im not a big fan of chrome on my cars?

This was my Lexus when i had it. Its dirty, but its all i have of it debadged. I left the "L" on it, cause it looked good.

i debadged, and im not ashamed to drive an LS... granted i have a v6 and that swayed my decision some more, but again, i could have just added a v8 emblem and be a poser...... i think it does look cleaner debaged, also LS is a common car around here, so everyone knows it is an LS

Man this thread just takes things to a new low for me. I cant believe some of you have put the things that you have on your car. SVT, MTX ??? Seriously ? Why not go get a supercharged emblem or maybe a Ford TurboDiesel emblem, that would really confuse people and be super cool. Quik, in my opinion in that picture the letter "E" looks crooked, spaced wrong, and almost a different font, otherwise it still fits the car. And my man with the Lexus, those taillights look like ass. Are you fast and furious?

Well - it is the factory LSE badge - purchased from Lincoln.....

it's not just the letter 'E' tagged on - but - the 'LSE' comes as a factory set.

but you are always the one telling everyone not to 'change' anything....

I thought the LSE badge only said LSE, not LSE V8

Hey my LSE had a LS V8 tail light, go figure. No signs of being wrecked and the VIN checked out. Got the right one now. Can only assume someone stole the E or something silly and the LS V8 one was more available.

Learn your cars, those tails are STOCK. The Lexus IS300 (Toyota Altezza) was the originator of the "Altezza" tail lights.

LOL, calling the car rice, when you have people putting SVT on theirs...LOL.

well i never put fake posing crap on my car and i was refering to yoyur exhaust V-8 not your tails

If the exhaust isn't stock it's close to stock the IS came with a big single tip exhaust.

Oh, ok. Sorry bout that.

That exhaust was indeed aftermarket. It was a GReddy Evo exhaust. Sounded great with an intake. That tip was 4", which is big, but the stock one was 3". Which was pretty big to start.

Man, i miss that car.

A Little History

Back in the late 70s and early 80s it was "the thing" in Germany to factory order (at extra cost) you BMW 635CSi without badges and spoiler. The Germans liked to play stealth games on the Autobahn. I bought my Euro 80 635 in Germany in 1981 from one such German. He had two sixers, one stealth and one normal.:)

The tail light ons the lexus IS (also sold as the Toyota Altezza in Japan) started the cleared tail light trend. That's twhy they were first called Altezza lights when they were first sold during what I like the to call the "APC Bolt On/Autozone performance" fad.

Back to the topic at hand, however. Don't debadge. I've toyed with the idea of replacing LSE with stacked "Luxury Sport-E" badging but I never really found a good size or placement using photoshop. LSE is special enough for me anyway

I'm also going to have to apologize to some of you guys, but adding thinks like SVT or MTX on the end is LAME. It's like those folks that buy the GT badges for their V-6 Mustangs or the guys that buy the Type-R and Type-S badges for their Hondas and Acuras. Not cool. At the very least come up with something new, like LS-Type M or LSX. We're Lincoln owners, we should be on a higher level than these rice burning kids.

My thoughts on all this is .... it's your car, do whatever you want with it. If the guy complaining is paying your car note / upkeep then he has a right to try and tell you what you can and cannot put on your car. Otherwise it's an opinion ... everybody has one. :)

It would look better w/out but that is me. I like the car to look smooth and clean. Whoever called that IS a ricer, thats funny, how can you not know the IS came like that besides the exhaust.

You people(some) are always so quick to judge someone who wants to do something to their ride and yet most of you are also looking for something to do to yours, so you are to a ricer because doing anything to a car that is not stock is under the same category from what I read from all your judgements.

Like stated, its your car, do what pleases you, no one should ask if they should do this or that, especially on here because of the major jumpin down your neck effect on here.

Thanks

Thank you for all your opinions... that is what I was looking for (and some pictures, which I did find). It seems everyone (on a forum like this) wants to personalize their car and that is what I am after as well - something I like that is just a little different from everyone else. As I said I am just getting started and love my LS more and more each day. As for me ... I'm still undecided weather or not I will remove the lettering. One thing at a time.

conclude,
n8

How about you take them off. If you dont like it, put them back on. You could buy some double sided tape to replace them.

just "v8" remains

here's mine. sorry for the crappy camera phone pic. I hate chrome.

i thoguht maybe he put MTX cause he had like an MTX SUB.. atleast I was hoping..

i saw some people put LINCOLN from an aviator or some such on their dash and i like the idea of having it in there, but not in such big letters, so i pulled LINCOLN LS off of the back and put them in there, looks good with the wood grain painted to match the exterior. ill try to post a pic later/
