Factory Paint...for the Lincoln LS... is it a single stage paint (clear coat mixed with paint) ??

I haven't done my own research (which I should've done first before asking this question),
so I apoligize. But, I just received my Porter Cable 7424XP (Dual Action) polisher and I plan
on starting my paint detailing plan. But, I need to determine if the factory paint is a single-
stage or two-stage ?? I have waterspots on my black Gen.1 LS that "isn't" noticable when
your 10'ft away (or less) from the car. But, DAMN... when the sun hit's the car at a certain
angle the darn black paint looks serioiusly flawed. I've wetsanded my previous project cars
but they were all custom candy 3-stage paints, so...

Is the Lincoln LS factory paint "considered" a single-stage, and therefore "can not" be wet-
sanded ?? or what ?? Has anyone attempted to wetsand ?? Let me know.. and anyone else
who doesn't know (for this clarification). Thanks...

I think G-Rell took the time wetsanding the orange peel out of his entire car. I remember he, or whoever it was, ranting about how the dealer washed his car. I would have been pissed too, there's not much clear left when you're done.

Are all LS colors 2 stage, even the metallics?

Pektel spent an entire weekend wet sanding his a few years back.

I think that they are all 2 stage. I have polished my car (light tundra metallic) and no color comes off. That is a pretty good indicator that it is cleared.
