lincoln abs light

recently my abs light flashed on, so i turned my car off. the light cleared but then it re-appeared and stayed on. i bought one of the code readers from a local parts store, but no code errors came up. i have no idea what may have caused this and i was wondering if anyone else had this problem or could maybe tell me what to do.

Did you buy a OBD11 reader or an ABS reader? I bet you bought OBD11 reader which does not read abs stuff. I have been looking at buying an asb reader but there like 200 min. Most of the time i see abs light its one of the wheel sensors.

well i didnt buy it a friend of mine lent it to me, where would i be able to pick one of those up

This is pretty common.

I would put money on it being a wheel speed sensor throwing an error.

This can usually be fixed by replacing that wheel sensor - and sometimes even just cleaning out the sensor(s).

could it be my brakes need done? they do squeek sometimes
