So i guess a full throttle pass with your imrc's dissconnected can cause detramental damage to your engine:mad: . Thans guys for warning me!!! lol

It should have no effect. May not be a good idea, but it should not destroy the engine.
 
i blew my motor once because my tire pressure was low. but i filled the windsheild washer fluid back up and now it runs like a champ.

When unburned fuel/air mixture beyond the boundary of the flame front is heated and pressurized by the advancing flame front for a certain length of time, detonation occurs. It is caused by an instantaneous, explosive ignition of pockets of fuel/air mixture. The cylinder pressure rises sharply beyond its design limits, and if it is allowed to persist, detonation will damage or destroy engine parts. The deleterious mechanisms range from particle wear caused by moderate knocking, to holes punched through the piston or head caused by serious knocking.

i am, but it doesn't look like you are. you not going to ping because the IMRC are stuck open or closed. its not going to cause it, ever. also, detonation isn't really going to blow a NA motor easily. if your detonating to the point where your doing damage NA, the car is running so bad that you are either retarded or in a coma not to notice and let off.

As harsh as that is. I agree. If an engine is "pinging" you do not push it - period. Mine has a slight pinging problem at WOT and has for a long time but I keep the WOTs to a minimum and ALWAYS run premium of E85 (110 octane). A NA engine will not destroy itself unless it pinging A LOT and you are pushing it hard A LOT. Even then what will fail is usually the oil pump from disintegration of the pinging. It just does. It has nothing to do with IMRCs. There are PLENTY of Marks with stuck IMRCs and people just dont know. Only 96 and up can a stuck IMRC throw a code. I am sure there are plenty of pre-96 Marks running around that are not performing well due to stuck IMRCs. Yet the engine keep running.

i had just got a tune from DON LESOTA racing put it on my car and it ran great no timing pings or anything no codes everything cool on the data log of idle and some less then 5k dry revs, took in down the block 1 time pulled HARD up to when the imrc's should open then just no power boost from the imrc's turned around went back to the shop parked the car and the next morning rattle rattle clank clank. Im not saying the 167,000 miles on the car dident help, something horrible happend and the oil was bougus with maybe 3 hours of running and it was black!!!

i mean ,yes, it sucks if you motor blew,i hope it can be fixed cheaply.

was your first post in this thread just a joke because you were upset and didnt know what else to say ,or are you convinced the imrc's did this to your engine?

Did you actually HEAR any pinging? Sound like a car that had a tune installed before it was at optimal condition and the mixture was so far off it carbonized the oil. Again, nothing to do with IMRCs.

The rattling? Or knocking? Could just be a broke spring, especially if its a 95.

IMRCs open at 3k so "and it ran great no timing pings or anything no codes everything cool on the data log of idle and some less then 5k" means that the IMRCs are not at fault, as proven by you. Something else went.
 
my question is, why did you unhook the imrc's anyway? they are there for a reason, just like the engineer who said lets put 5 lug nuts on each rim, that wasnt done so you could take off 4 of them per wheel, and then snap the wheels off the car and blame it on the paint?
i mean things are desinged for a reason, leave them the way they are, i bet your car ran erfectly fine before you messed with the imrc's. you own a mark VIII, its not a race car, if you want a race car, build the proper 4.6 for it and get rid of the imrc's, dont unhook stuff on the stock motor and hope it runs right. now you have no choice it sounds though, just build a new motor now and eliminate the stuff you dont want, build a cobra motor now.

then said pulled hard to when they should open, meaning pulled to the point where they would open if they were hooked up.

I predict that at 167,000 miles your fuel pump was not up to the task at hand.

Considering I had two pumps die, first at 150,000 miles and the second one 300,000 miles.

A performance fuel table and additional spark in a car that doesnt deliver the same AF ratio that is commanded by the pcm" spells disaster... IF.. the person pressing the gas pedal ignoresthe very obvious signs of detonation.

in a previous car, I had very bad detonation one time.. I "got into the gas again" to see if it would do it again..and bam..that was all it took.
 
unity you need to add your eng setup is not stock. i would be against anyone running e-85 in there stock markviii!!!!
