Just got pulled over because apparently my tag lights were out. I checked the fuse in the trunk and its good still. If one bulb goes out on this car do they both go? Cant think what else could do that. Does the headlight control determine if are both out.

I've had one of mine go out before, the other was still working. They are probably both burnt out. Pretty easy to change them.

I never had luck changing them from the outside, could never get the cover off

Yea I was thinking LEDs.. But both went out at once I find that a little odd? If the fuse is fine theres nothig else in there hat could cause this right?

I'm with you....I had to tear the trunk liner apart to change one of mine out last week.

It can be done from outside with patience. The plastic housings have to be slid across and then pulled down from what i remember when i did mine.

That assumes both failed together. The cops won't pull you over if one is burned out as not all cars have more than one and some cars have them on the side. The cop would have to KNOW that your car has more than one to bother pulling you over, and even then as long as he can see one working he'd have to be pretty bored to pull you over for one of two being burned out.

Time to upgrade to led's :D

Nyce, whats all involved with doing this, any conversions or a direct plug-n-play fit ?

got any numbers or links to these suggested tag light leds ( you know one of mine is out, don't ya LOL )

I dont see the exact bulbs i have listed (they dont fit properly anyway)
The fourth /last one is similar, just shorter, so it should lock in properly.

its pretty much plug n play. Take out old bulb, put in o (if it doesnt light up, flip it around---polarity has ro be right). One tip is make sure the contacts are tight (in the socket)

Bulb(s) might stay dimly lit when lights are off (residual power) unless you add a resistor

They're gone now apparently anyway lol.. Already got them somewhere else. Hopefully they fit right.

Maybe you had one burned out for a while and didnt notice. I recently got a bunch of LEDs on ebay for my 71 Mustang. Thats always a place to look..... Don't buy any single LED replacement bulbs. I bought a bunch for my 02 LS and they were too dim. Most recently i bought 3 LEDs per bulb and they were comparible to stock.
