They work decent in foglights I have seen, but for headlights LEDs are pretty much useless in terms of light output and safety.

It is funny you made this thread, a couple days ago I ordered LEDs for all my exterior lights. I will post how it goes - the brake/taillight bulbs are on backorder for a week so I won't have those yet.

I will say this, when you're paying nearly 70 bucks for LED foglights, you might as well spend 30 more and get a HID kit.

Haha, ya (with the HIDs), I was just curious if anyones had any experience with them. I've seen some listing a lot cheaper. I really want my puddle lights converted. I've been tryingt to do some reading on LED's. Do you know if some come with built in resistors? I've read some that say they have built in resistors, I don't want my lights running 24/7.

I have LEDs in the puddles and all interiors, and yes they turn off, but @ night you can see them very dimly lit soon after parking, they eventually go out.

I am not sure of built-in resistors, but you can add them easily.

TBH it is kind of cool that the puddles and license plate are very dimly lit right after parking, I dunno I kind of like it - think it looks cool haha.

Ya, I agree, that would look sweet. Do the interior LED's still shut off gradually light the incandescent lights did before the conversion? I've been thinking about a white street glow kit, but hooked up with the puddle lights so when I unlock the car the street glows light up also but turn off after the cars started. What's your opinion on that. I personally don't care for street glows but I thought in that application it may look cool. Especially at night.

Yes the dimming scroll is still functional with the LEDs. It looks really nice.

Not sure about underbody glow, not on my LS anyways.

Likw andrizzle said, led are good for the fog light but not for the driving lights. Try it out either way so you know by experience first hand.Bright to look at but not a lot of light output.

As far as the led in the pudddles, uou can easily add a resistor, it takes 30 more seconds.

Hey Guys,

I've been working on my LED conversion as well. So far so good.

Blue interior LEDs. White License plate LEDs. Up next is the bulbs in the vanity mirrors in the visors. White on those. ANyone know what size those bulbs are??

I put these bulbs in my fog lights. Not LED but they look great. I basically use them as daytime running lights.

Headlights are stock halogens. No HIDs...yet. lol.

I can't wait to do my puddles! White LEDs for those. A lil nervous about destroying the light housing when popping the lens off...:frown:

DUCKY - The white underglow on the unlock sounds SWEEEET, dood! I wanna do that. lol!

depends on the seller, I've seen some low beam leds put out pretty good in an acura better than my OEM LS low beams, thats why I asked about it first awhile back but I went with HID anyways, thinkin bout LED for the fogs though.

You sure they were LED? And if you say they guy told you then did he know the difference between HID and LED? I had 2 friends who liked the white look of HID's and everytime they would see some at night they would say, "LED"S!!!" I laughed and told them they weren't.

No that is an HID Kit, with LEDs on top of it.

Turn signals and brake/tails

Are those yours andrizzle? Or it's a picture you found?

Sweet. How much for the set?

is that a HID kit for the fogs?

Do you already have LEDs in the reverse lights, the ones next to the license plate?

Yea, the kit was $150 for slim digital HIDs. And yea it is going in the fogs.

Yes, I have LED reverse lights already. This will basically make the entire exterior LED or HID. With the exception of the hi-beams.

I got the signals to work, but I am having a tough time getting the brake/tails to work properly, still trying different things and resistors. Still toying with it, but as of now those & the hi-beams are the only incandescent bulbs left on the car

What color rating?

I just got my ddm hid bulbs for my fogs today.I used tthe bulbs witht the ebay slim digital ballast I bought for the projectors I had. I order h11 bulbs, but when I took out the bulbs from the fogs, those said h8 , very similar, just one of the three tabs was slightly wider on the h11's, so I just cut off a little piece to make it fit, worked out good. I went with 5000k for the crisp white loook.

They dont work as in you get a bulb out message or they wont light up properly?

I had to do the same when I got my last H11 bulbs, I just trimmed off one of the little tab's corners.

They will only light @ full brightness (as if brake applied). I know there is a way to get it to light @ the different intensities, it would be easier if I could see the way the 4 wires are setup in the bulb housing - but it is solid black and cannot be opened without cutting or busting it open somehow... And when you're talking about opening a bulb that costs $60 for the pair - it is tough to do... lol

Also both, tail and brake light messages are on the dash, but adding resistors takes care of it... But it is pointless if I cannot get them to light the correct way.

I have been googling, and it seems everyone else's worked directly plugged in - minus adding resistors for the bulb indicator.

It is probably easy and I am just dumb.

Also I wanna say, since adding the LEDs to all the signals, the angel eyes no longer flash with the signals when I have no parking lamps on. This also eliminated them (angel eyes) flashing during lock/unlock. I kind of like it this way TBH, more subtle.

Okay I think I found some useful information, basically we have one of the rare cars that uses a weird socket for the tails/brake lights that is not very traditional 3157.

There are special bulbs you can buy for this, but they're not the same magnitude as the traiditional ones I got... I am going to attempt to modify one to work as a special bulb.

hmmm. Not sure what that means but if you figure out a way to make them work post it up. I'll be headgin in that route later on too.
