I would like to hear all the LS race stories that everyone has, win or lose I just hope that you all kicked the crap out of some ricers!
 
2 months ago. I-95 North approx 10:00am on a Weekday morning in a rural part of North Carolina. Wide open road, dry pavement sunny. Dodge Magnum flies past me at about 100mph as I was cruising at 65mph. He slows up, pulls alongside me, and shoots off. I put the pedal to the metal (as they used to say), and once we hit 115mph, it was bye bye Magnum. Repeatedly as I slowed to toy with him, then dropped the hammer a couple times.

Top Speed limiters at 115mph must suck.



3 weeks ago, almost on the exact stretch of road..a previous generation Lexus GS300 tried to make a run. Same results.
 
Also, what are the mods everyone has? And does anyone have a sound clip of the Magnaflow exhaust? I want to hear what it sounds like on the LS before I decide to get it.

So much for the god given HEMI!!
 
Last night my buddy was in his IS300 we are crusing down the interstate and he keeps f-ing with me. So we come to a straight strecth rollin about 60. I put in third and walked off from him.

Truth be told, I am not certain it was the Hemi. If it was, then the HP advantage would have/should have eaten the V8 LS engine alive.


Until that Top Speed Limiter kicked in. :-)
 
killed a bmw 3 series by 6 cars from a dead stop too 100, killed a lexus is300 by 5 cars from dead stop to 100, 97 sts from dead stop he barely pulled a fender
 
umm question. i haven't done this yet but is it fine drivin say 40 or so and switch from regular drive (d5) to the sst mode?

Depending on which 3 series, this is either a KILLER feat (M3 3 Series with over 300hp) or nothing to brag about (early 90's 318 with the 1.8 liter 4 cylinder)

You're correct...the hemi cars...even the standard hp versions...will out run the LS. But those cars are boats too...so it won't be as bad as you think. But they will outrun the LS...every time.

I blew away a 1992 Toyota Corolla with a little old lady driving it. Does that count?

As for mods, I've only got Lincoln logo valve stem caps and a pair of V8 fender badges, but the car is significantly more powerful than stock.

I have driven a new Charger with the 5.7 HEMI. I do not think it would take my LS with the Xcal2 tune in it. May find out one of these days. Now the SRT8, forget that. No way the LS will hang with one of those, not with just a tune anyway.
 
Well, one day I was driving down the street when this squirrel ran under my tires. On another day, I came over the crest of a hill, and a bird couldn't take off fast enough, and bounced off my bumper.

Or are these not the kinds of kill stories you want? ;)
 
Hit a raccoon once zooming down Angeles Crest Hwy in the LS.
Fur and guts in the lower grill.

Tagged a pigeon in the Mustang at 120.
Feathers in the wiper blades and A pillar.

Flattened a snake in the Explorer.
Blood in the wheel well.

I could go on.
Are you sure you want to hear these stories?:confused:

it was like a 02 318 or whatever it is i dont know the whole bmw number series
 
Probably one of my most memorable "kills" was a Prowler... dead stop to 100 MPH, had him by like 1/2-1 car length. It was a run, I wound it up shifting with the SST. Funny thing was, I had a co-worker with me that likes to race everything under the sun, and he was crappin' at the pull from my LS.

He told EVERYONE -- it was really funny.

V6, right???....They make around 250 HP....bet that was a good one.
 
I assume it was a V6, don't know much about them honestly except he gave a good run, but I got the job done.

Just the fact that they are $60K+ and I beat it made me happy.

Clipped a deer one night in a F150. By the time I stopped to take a look, the darn thing got up and ran back into the woods.

Had to replace the bumper cover and a headlight.

that almost happened to me one night when i was learning to drive. i was in my grandpa's silverado and a doe came runnin out onto the hwy and i missed her head by less than a foot.

i was out on a pleasure drive with my girl and my friends girl, and this little 90's civic is tailgating me for about 3/4 or so of a mile and after we get to this four way stop right before you exit town he tries to pass me. not gonna happen, by the time he got in the other lane i was already downshifting to 2nd and flooring it, wound it up to about 75 in 3rd and he was nowhere to be seen. i guess he didnt take into consideration the corner that is about 1/4 mile from the stop. uhh, and i hit a squirrel in front of one of my other friend's neighborhood. ohh, and i hit a bird once that i watched fly over my car through the moonroof. it was neat:D
 
i clipped a 2004 vw passat. killed the car but not any passengers. 1993 grand cherokee 5.2 Liter awd r.i.p
also same jeep killed an f150 single cab 4.6. i'm not sure what it had in it but it barked the tires in two gears
