K&N intake idea

What do you guys think about an onyx chrome knn typhon intake tube? Yay or nay?

Giving the K&N intake tube that treatment would look very clean! Much better than the plastic, or even chrome, stock tube. What are we looking at for cost and turn-around time?

For a part that goes into an otherwise mundane engine bay, I personally would put my money elsewhere. If it is really worthwhile to you, it certainly would be unique.

+1 to you Josh but that could be said about most other cosmetic mods.

Don't know the cost but I was just seeing what you guys thought about it, I got the idea today when I looked at my intake and saw the missing piece of chrome that came off when I took the k&n decal off.

Turn around for my grille was a day so this should be about the same, maybe 2 tops if they are busy

Cosmetic mods under the hood are different than those to the exterior. Wheels can be seen by any passerby, whereas something like an intake is a only for the rare few that see under your hood. My LS is not a show car, so I am really the only one that goes under the hood and there other things I would put my money towards. If you find yourself with frequent opportunity to show-off under your hood, by all means go for it!

Dont show off my engine bay a lot, but the tear in the chrome on my intake does bug me.

I can't do it myself, unless you spray paint it that color, but I was talking about the black chrome that I got my cdc grille in.
